Re: God, Satan and Job

I am entirely with you what He can. In either case, it would be accurate to say that God did not "know ahead of time that Job will remain faithful", even if He was consciously limiting His omniscience. That was my point. In any case, many Bible scholars argue that, based on the genre of th...

Re: Deism or Christianity?

Maybe he created us as rats to experiment on. Or maybe he created as his dying wish. Or maybe something we can't understand. Millions of possibilities.

If yes (which I don't agree with), it makes Satan look dumber than a box of rocks. Placing a bet with an omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent God.

Re: I think I am losing my faith.

How about this one: Daughter Babylon, doomed to destruction... Blessed are those who seize your infants and dash them against the rocks (Psalms 137:8-9) Let's be honest - if this is not barbarically ugly, then I don't know what is. God Himself says elsewhere the the Bablyon girl's infants will be &q...

Re: Hell Question

Revelations says that you will be there forever. Still, some don't take this literally because of how full of allegory and symbolism the book is (and there are some earlier biblical texts that use similar phrases Revelation does, "forever and ever" in particular, to figuratively describe t...

Re: Is hell real? Or is it only made to keep people in fear?

It seems to me that he is asking for a "scientific explanation" of how fire can cause harm to a spiritual object. After all, why else is this in the "God and Science" sub-forum?

Of course, no one can answer that because we don't know what a soul is "made of".

There is really no argument except "it just really feels that there is an objective moral realm".

Your sense of humour and words elsewhere appear to betray your profile. Shouldn't you be updating your profile already? ;) This is really funny considering I took the picture from a famous Christian apologist: http://www.gregboyd.org/blog/a-report-an-fyi-and-a-chuckle/ Go ahead and don't believe me...

Re: Meaning and purpose to Atheists...

I don't have to explain inherent knowledge of right and wrong, because it isn't inherent, it's taught. so, it isn't inherently wrong to kill 6 million jews because you don't like their race? it isn't inherently wrong to molest children.? Are you saying these are just prefences of the culture that y...

Craig's argument is essentially that God has mysterious purposes embellished with big words and verbosity.

Re: Christian Biography: Scientists and Science Philosopher

Science should not be based on observations; but only upon the Bible's teachings. Men should never believe what they see with their own eyes, if what they see disagrees with the Bible. Scientists should never publish explanations, theories, or ideas for others to read if they can be construed in an...
