Re: Job 38:14 says earth is flat?
So in the end, despite this painful wall of text, you admit that God did inspire the "those who dash their infants against the rocks will be blessed" verse. OK. . . so Babylonians took Israelities captive. Therefore, it's perfectly okay to take their babies and kill them by throwing them a...

Re: Why are there so many non-believers?
This is called the problem of Divine Hiddenness, and in my opinion, it's probably one of the strongest objections that can be raised against the God of Christianity. It can be stated as it follows: 1. God (of Christianity) wants all people to believe in Him 2. God can make evidence of His existence ...

Re: Job 38:14 says earth is flat?
Yes, yes. All scientfically incorrect verses must be metaphors. . . ;) (even though it was a very common belief in biblical times that the earth did, in fact, sit upon pillars) I have a much better solution. Although the Bible was inspired by God, not every individual sentence is inerrant. That way ...

Re: Job 38:14 says earth is flat?
In fact, a few chapters before this verse, Job correctly stated that the earth is suspended in space, with nothing under it (26:7). And there are also verses that say that the Earth sits upon pillars. (and if you think I must be an atheist because I said this, don't bother commenting - you're wrong)

Re: Lust and sexual sin
One thing you should keep in mind is that being physically attracted to a woman isn't the same as lust. It becomes lust once you begin having "dirty" thoughts.
So while saying "Whoa, that girl is hot" isn't sinful, "Man, I wish I could bang that girl" is.

Re: Questions about Theistic evoluton...
If you end up allegorizing the creation account or say that bits and pieces of it is true and some other parts are false, how do you keep from having to apply that same reasoning to the rest of the Bible? And if you apply that idea to the rest of the Bible how do you know if we are indeed saved by ...

Re: Question about salvation assurance...
Yes i must admit i also have trouble making up my mind on this matter too....i mean these 3 verses make me wonder if im doing enough...Matthew 7:21-23 They shouldn't. Notice that the passage says that these people did not do "the will of the Father". John 6:40 tells us that the will of th...

Re: Questions about Molinism, Calvinism, and Arenianism...
I am undecided, but Open Theism makes the most sense to me so far (interesting how you didn't include it among the available options). One of the main reasons is that all attempts I've seen to explain away the hundreds of Old Testament passages of God regretting past choices, changing His mind, test...

Re: Relationship problem
I am not just talking about being "separated". I am saying that even if he was officially "divorced", it would still be, by biblical standards, adultery.
The logic behind this is that they are "one flesh" forever from the moment God joins them together.

Re: Relationship problem
And isn't marrying a divorced person STILL considered "adultery"?zoegirl wrote: SCripture is clear about this, both from the divorce/married issue as well as the unequally yoked. You can't make a Biblical case for staying with him while he is married. Separated in not free.

Pretty much useless, because we have similar reports from the people of other religions.

A True Christian would never play such bloody and violent games. . . ![Wink ;)](./images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

Re: Prayer to Saints
PS: This thread will be locked at the first sign of anyone's salvation being questioned. I wonder if praying to Saints has any kind of negative impact on one's status as a saved person. . . J/k. I would definitely say that it's unbiblical. However, I was born in an Eastern Orthodox country where I ...
