It seems, the more I ponder these matters, most objections come down to "God wouldn't do it this way."
Not saying that's good or bad, just thinking out loud.

Re: Stuff before marriage : /
I think you may be missing the point, if we date to see if we are compatible in all other things, why should our sexuality be any different? Don't you (in general not to anyone in specific) think that by make such a huge deal about sex, that you ARE making such a HUGE deal about sex? Yes, it is vit...

Re: Stuff before marriage : /
I suggest this page, myself. I have a good friend of mine name Roy, he was married for 7 years, the last 5 being almost sexless. He is a very devote RC, as was his wife and they did not have any sex before marriage, she was quite adamant about that. Well, the sex, when it happened, was cold, impers...

Re: Stuff before marriage : /
I have to disagree with Reactionary and Paul on this one. Sex before marriage is sex before marriage, no matter the reason. You can try to dance around the issue with whatever excuse you give, but in the end it's still immoral before God, is it not?

Re: Big list of evolution evidences I can't refute
Wayne, I don't look to start an argument, but your statements prompted me to at least point something out. You seem to be accusing God of trickery here... or at least planting misleading information. I don't think you have the proper authority to do so, quite frankly. You (or I should say, people) a...

Re: Was Adam the first human?
That's all very interesting, thanks for the post!
As I said, I'm not really qualified to say anything at this point. I do think that Hugh makes a good case from what I've seen so far, so this is something I'm going to continue to look into for myself. Decisions, decisions...

Re: Was Adam the first human?
Neo, I'm not qualified to argue on this topic (and I certainly won't attempt it), but how does the Bible put man at 5,000BC? IIRC, Hugh Ross believes that Adam could have been around 50,000-100,000BC.

Re: What are the Strongest points of Theistic Evolution
Also, as time goes on for me, I feel more and more that in order to believe in instant spantaneous creation (even old earth creationism), one has to reject a ton of evidence, while cherry picking exceptions to the evidence and use it as the proof that spontaneous creationism is true. Would you mind...

Re: Craig vs Harris Debate
Some genius decided to post how he thought WLC was a child molestor, and it started this whole thread of people repeating it because they hate the guy. ...and what a surprise, his comment turned out to become top-rated. :brick: What he meant to say is, if I interpreted it right, that you can state ...

I saw more Ad Hominem attacks than actual quotes used by Craig in the comment section, pro or con. I can only imagine what its like for a Christian...

Re: Craig vs Harris Debate
There certainly are people out there who are reasonable... I just don't think they make up the vocal crowd in places like Youtube. Based on that and the response people I know have given it, I know full well in those specific cases that WLC could have performed a miracle and they would have found i...

Re: Craig vs Harris Debate
I have come to the conclusion that people who follow these debates have already made up their minds and both participantes are "preaching to the choir" that is why believers will say Craig won and atheists will say that Harris won. We tend to focus on the points we agree on and WANT to ag...

Re: Craig vs Harris Debate
I never read comments on Youtube videos anymore. They just aren't worth the time.
I haven't watched the debate yet, but I plan to soon. Craig's debates are always entertaining.

Re: Heh... now this is a weird question
Glad to see I'm not the only one with this problem! Not just with religion though. I'm involved in various hobby-forums, and it seems that no matter the subject, having an active debate sucks up *all* of my time. For that reason, I've been teaching myself to just ignore it. I'm much more interested ...

Re: Child with high IQ looks to disprove big bang
A few things caught my eye: Christians worldwide should applaud Jacob’s intent to disprove one of the many theories put forth by atheists to explain away the Biblical creation. According to astronomer Paul Steidl, “The big bang was invented specifically for the purpose of doing away with the creatio...
