Re: Pi
The other explanation I had heard was regarding Significant Figures, which says that whenever you do calculations, you round so that you don't have more nonzero digits in the answer than in the original question. For example, when doing the division of 2.3/5.9, instead of writing the answer as 0.389...

Re: What needs to be done in order to be saved
Today I was finishing reading the gospel according to John and in the 20th chapter, I found a verse that echoed what John wrote about in 1 John 5. But these have been written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name. Believing th...

Re: I have a ghost in my room.... No Joke
If what you say is true, it probably isn't a ghost as in a deceased human, but more likely a demon (i.e. a fallen angel).

Regarding the Trinity
I know this is a super complicated subject but I want to try to settle a few things. We have a few different terms referring to God, such as God, L ORD , Yahweh/Jehovah, Lord, Jesus, and there are plenty of others. I was wondering when those terms refer to the entire trinity and when they refer to a...

Re: Was the West founded on Christian Values?
Well, a major reason a number of groups moved from Europe into the colonies in America was to flee from religious persecution. Most of the colonies had a state religion, it being a denomination of Christianity. Rhode Island, I believe, was the only colony to have freedom of religion, and it was foun...

Re: What needs to be done in order to be saved
There's not really that many issues that have any real impact on meaning and interpretation between the best manuscripts we have today and the Textus Receptus. I actually have an old Textus Receptus interlinear from the 1800s that I go to every now and then to compare with my UBS texts. Rarely do I...

Re: What needs to be done in order to be saved
It is possible that the reason we have so few copies of these more ancient manuscripts is because they were known to be not as reliable and were not duplicated as much. It is also possible that the reason this particular copy of these older manuscripts apparently lasted the longest is because it was...

Messiah
Hey I know the Messiah is prophesized a lot in the Prophets section of the Bible like in Isaiah, but I was wondering about when the promise of a coming Messiah was first revealed by God. I know the one in Genesis 3 about how the seed of the woman would crush the serpent's head, but that is quite sym...

Re: Solomon
In the bible Wisdom pretty much is moral living and having an acute eye for distinguishing right from wrong :P good on you for catching on Kristoffer :D You do realise that (=/=) is "not equal too" My bad, but how does it not? Solomon asked God for wisdom. God gave Solomon wisdom. Then So...

Re: What needs to be done in order to be saved
Do you recall the reason the Nestle-Aland Text Translated 'Jesus' instead of 'Lord' (i.e. Kurios)? The Nestle-Aland Text is based on different manuscripts than the Majority Text or the text on which the King James Bible was based. Its manuscripts are technically older, but that does not necessarily...

Re: Favorite Book of the Bible........Why?
Leviticus. It's come in handy quite a few times.
I also like Genesis because it provides a history of the first 2500 years or so of mankind.
I like Judges because it has a lot of awesome parts.
As for the New Testament, I'd say Mark, because it's a short, to the point biography of Jesus.

Re: What needs to be done in order to be saved
And one of the hanged criminals blasphemed Him, saying, If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us. But answering, the other rebuked him, saying, Do you not fear God, for you are in the same judgment? And we indeed justly, for we receive things worthy of what we did. But this One did nothing wrong...

Extraterrestrial Life
It has come to my attention that quite a lot of people believe that in the hundreds of billions of galaxies out there, there exists some form of alien life, even though they might doubt that we'd ever communicate with them in the near future. And that kind of makes sense, considering how astronomica...

Re: Can Christians believe in evolution?
Christian means "Follower of Christ". Can you follow Christ while believing in evolution? Of course. Would you go to heaven if you believed in evolution? No where in the Bible does it say that you go to hell if you believe in evolution. No where does it also say that you must believe the w...
