Re: Stars Went Billions of Years Back in Time When Created.
Does the doubt that rightly exists within science (and to some extent too within hermeneutics which are also subject to change although more slowly and often time reluctantly) mean that it's possible that there will be some understanding come out that provides an answer that somehow reconciles thes...

Re: Stars Went Billions of Years Back in Time When Created.
Well, Rick. If the stars went back in time billions of years, then they would be billions of years old now wouldn't they? Wouldn't that contradict your own belief? How could stars go back in to a time that never existed to begin with? If the universe is 6,000 years old, then the stars traveled back...

Re: Stars Went Billions of Years Back in Time When Created.
Zoe, I started this topic because I want to discuss this particular question. I am interested in others input. I have read Hawkings "A Brief History of Time" and other books putting forward ideas of cosmology that I find interesting. I have read Einstein's explanation of special relativity...

Re: Stars Went Billions of Years Back in Time When Created.
Please, just look at the current topic, seriously consider it and if there is a scientific or biblical reason why it cannot be true, then post it. It helps if we get input from different people. You may well see things wrong with it that I don't see, but let's give it a real effort if we can. (P.S.)...

Re: Do Christians apologize?
I was answering you in a straight forward way, at least until you accused me of a heresy (you didn't ask me if I was espousing something, you said I was). All your posts seem straightforward and not gushing with love (no, I'm not being sarcastic), sort-of professional, I guess. Am I supposed to be ...

Re: Stars Went Billions of Years Back in Time When Created.
RickD: thanks again for your thoughts. The current big bang model although it does not exist in a fully working model, proposes inflation (rapid expansion far exceeding the speed of light) as an explanation of how the universe got to be what it is today. I didn't make it up. If the matter went backw...

ditto to what my southern wandering Canuck friend has said. Also, keep in mind that God said, "let us make man in our image..." and then created Adam. Adam, the perfect sinless man created in the image of God had no children. Adam and Eve only had children after they had sinned and experie...

Re: Stars Went Billions of Years Back in Time When Created.
Thanks for the input. I believe "silly" and "science fiction" are unnecessary. I might choose to label what you believe as silly science fiction. Why not have an open mind and seriously look at the hypothesis? If God created the matter at a point in the universe, then dispersed i...

After watching the exchange with some chagrin, I believe Jac was unjustly banned. He was just trying to communicate his position. We all know how frustrating it can become. After a pm to him he says he will not be back on this forum. It also appears there is a clique and if you're in the clique, you...

Re: Geocentric
Good point. The center of the universe could be anywhere and its location in the galaxy would not change that.
Personally, since all physical reference points are equally valid, I agree that it is irrelevant, really. It is the spiritual centre that is relevant. Not much more to say on the subject.

Truthman, So, what is space and how can it expand, moving matter and energy great distances at speeds far greater than light? Length, width and height. Those are the three spatial dimensions we interact with. Many astronomers like to use a balloon. Put dots on a balloon and blow it up. The faster i...
