Re: Does the Bible condone violence against other religions?
Just because the name Allah may be translated as "God", doesn't mean that the "allah" that Muslims worship is the same God as the God of the Bible. Mormons worship Jesus, correct? That doesn't mean that it's the same Jesus as the Bible's Jesus. Does that make sense? My point exa...

Re: Does the Bible condone violence against other religions?
Again, it does no favour to Christianity to make ignorant unsubstantiated statements like "Allah is the moon god". The correct statement would be that the Allah described in the Qur'an is not identical with the God described in the Bible, or that the Allah of Islam is not identical with th...

Re: The Universe Couldn't Come From Nothing
God could create ex nihilo(from nothing) What a bigger mystery is that than saying something can't come from nothing? I know the post is a terribly long read, but if you read the whole thing, it shows that the existence of the universe is a proof for the existence of God. Then, there is nothing dif...

Re: Does the Bible condone violence against other religions?
BTW, Allah is not technically another or different god, it is simply the Arabic word for god or God having originally been identical with the Hebrew word for God "eloah". Allah is a moon god. One god of many in Islam. Not the same as the God of the Bible. Please do more research. There is...

Re: evil and suffering
You are promoting the "let us do evil that good may come" idea.
Think about what I said. There is a limit as to how far this needs to be discussed.
You can get in the last word if you want to. I don't need to. Enough said.
God bless you, I think you are sincere in your quest for truth.

The Universe Couldn't Come From Nothing
From "Reason To Believe In God" an unpublished paper by Stephen W. Swires THE UNIVERSE COULDN'T COME FROM NOTHING For some almost inexplicable reason, there are many people today who say they believe the universe just happened by chance, and that it came from nothing! Now, I'm not sure if ...

Re: evil and suffering
The right way would be to act like Jesus. He never lied. If He didn't want to give the answer, He said nothing. You always have that option.
If you lie, you are following Satan.

Re: evil and suffering
God never said it was OK to lie. God is incapable of lying: it is incompatible with His nature. He creates by His word and everything He says exists in reality. Satan is the originator of lying and is the father of all lies. John 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye ...

Re: evil and suffering
I agree with Adam Clarke as written in his commentary that Micaiah was speaking in a parable, not giving a literal account of a true revelation from God (Micaiah did not actually have this vision and God did not send the deceiving spirit). In other words, in reading the story we find the situation t...

Re: evil and suffering
True, Rahab lied, but it is not necessarily a good lie. God was in control and God was the one that truly saved the spies: not Rahab by her lying.
She obviously thought she was doing God a favour but He doesn't need our resorting to lying to make things work out for good.

Re: evil and suffering
If you stop reading every time you come across a statement you don't agree with you probably will have little to read. You will also be very skewed in your conclusions. Take the time to read what the man said. He is an intelligent, educated thinker and worthy of consideration. Open your mind and hon...

Re: The Bible is light years ahead of science
Regarding red shift: Red shift is the shift in frequency of light towards a longer wave length caused by the source moving away from the observer. It is the same as the shift in tone you detect as a train approaches and then travels away from you: the frequency lowers. This is also known as the dopp...
