Re: Do Christians apologize?

Hebrews 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened,...6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. 1. It is referring to born again children of God (enlightened, tasted of the...

Re: Do Christians apologize?

If the "Once saved always saved" doctrine applies, then what do we do with Hebrews 6:4-6 ? 4 For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 and have tasted the goodness of the word of God ...

Re: Do Christians apologize?

It is consistent with once "saved always saved."
In the parable of the sower and the seed, only when the seed (the word of God) bore fruit was the person saved.

Re: Do Christians apologize?

But at the time he truly believed he was a true believer, then he stopped believing. What does that say about his absolute assurance of salvation? Jesus also gave us the parable of the sower and the seed. Some seed fell on stoney ground, sprang up, but never bore fruit. The seed is the Word of God....

Smiley, PLEASE edit your post before you get in trouble. That is inappropriate language for a Christian and for a Christian forum.

Re: Do Christians apologize?

What does it mean if a believer does not display or stops displaying God's work in him? John 15:1 I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. 2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. ...

Re: Do Christians apologize?

I'm sorry, but I don't understand. If God doesn't do what He says He will do?
I believe God does what He says.

Excellent post B.W.
UKJV: Philippians 2:13. For it is God which works in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Re: Joe Boot - Does God Exist?

Boot is good. Hard to find time to listen to all of it. I think Boot does a far better job of proof than De Sousa, but so far (part 3) it seems De Sousa may be reaching the audience better.

Re: Stars Went Billions of Years Back in Time When Created.

The second definition of motive is "causing or able to cause motion," as in the word "locomotive." Motive comes from the Old French, "causing to move," and from Latin, "to move." I don't know all the physics, but God would have done all anyway. I don't think ...

Re: Son of Man

CSLL You are correct regarding the immaculate conception of Mary. Her mother, and her mother, etc. would have also had to have had immaculate conception. Plus, there is no Scripture to support the immaculate conception of Mary. The reason that Jesus HAD to be born of a virgin was because God had to ...

Re: Stars Went Billions of Years Back in Time When Created.

Truthman, you want good attitudes, right? I asked you seriously, and I didn't expect such an answer (the two word answer seems very trite to me). Will you please answer me? I wouldn't have asked if I didn't want to know. Sorry. I didn't mean to be trite. I was simply acknowledging that you were cor...

Re: Stars Went Billions of Years Back in Time When Created.

So is it just me or is physics weird? Physics is extremely complex and difficult to comprehend. Try fully grasping what general relativity means when it says that gravity is a warping (changing) of space and time (which I think I understand), then, when you get that down, study superstring theory a...

Re: Stars Went Billions of Years Back in Time When Created.

Why would they go back in time? If the stars created time then wouldn't that mean that the universe is ~14 Billion years old? Also, if the stars created that time, then wouldn't that mean that the universe started to exist at the very moment in time in which they stopped moving back in time; and if...
