The Jews learned their lesson after the Babylonian exile. I believe they have never again gone back into idolatory as a nation since.

The OT canon contains the same books as the Hebrew Scriptures, except that they were divided into the law, prophets and writings, unlike minor/major prophets, poetry etc. The NT canon was decided by church councils. Here's a random website I found http://www.drury.edu/ess/values/christianscriptures....

If this is the case and the Jews don't believe Jesus was God and came died for our sins. the they still run on the Ot, do they still offer burnt offerings to god? it is my understanding (maybe incorrectly) That Jesus coming put an end to burnt offerings being the way for repentance. If the Jews do ...

Luke 16:19-31

The beautiful story above must have scared many a rich man. It shows that once an offer (and knowledge) of God's grace is rejected, there is no way back. It also shows that there is a temporary place of reward and punishment before the final judgement.

1 Peter 3:18-20 It appears that ungodly spirits get 'imprisoned'. Seems that a person will not face judgement until he has a fair chance of hearing and responding to Jesus. (The passage shows that Jesus personally ministered to the pre-judged spirits of people who perished in the flood. This happene...

Then there came a time to put my staff in the ground, and say this is where I stand and heaven and hell will not prevail. That was then Jesus's words became truly real, speaking to my heart, and him saying 'my purpose is that you will become like me'. I was not following my idol anymore. I was beco...

Isn't that salvation though? Once you accept Jesus into your heart you have salvation, don't you?
Depends on your definition of salvation?

They have to be created from scratch during the final judgement, since everything is destroyed before then. From descriptions in Revelation 21, the new earth seems to be like an Edenic version of our present earth. Hell (the lake of fire) seems to survive this destruction and guilty souls find their...

Who is the woman in Revelation 12?

I suggest that she symbolises the church in the last days. The safe offspring are saved (in heaven) Christians. The rest are Christians enduring persecution during the tribulation.

I think there are two separate issues here: 1) Has the law been annulled? 2) What are the commandments God wants Christians to obey? I believe the answer to 1) is no and the answer to 2) is found in the post above. Jesus kept the law (all of it) and also fulfilled it. One is saved by faith in the Pe...

When we get to heaven we shall be equal to the angels. I believe when Gods word talks about saints, it is talking about those who have earnt their place to be with God in heaven. We will live in glorified bodies similar to Jesus, in the new creation. The nature of that will be higher that that of a...
