The only part of the OT which we are not under is the law of Moses. The reason being that Jesus is our righteousness by fulfilling the law - we don't ignore it; its just than with Jesus, we are a step further - the final one. The law is still important to us since it shows us the need for grace. It ...

Thats a tough one for an introvert like me - It takes a bit of effort to get involved in fellowship. In the end I end up blessed and I get a chance to bless others. It gives Christians a sense of unity, belonging and hope - this may become more apparent in an environment of persecution, rather than ...

God knew that Jesus would be the offspring of David and Bathsheba - That does not justify the adultery which David committed. This is an example of God fulfilling His purpose while David simultaneously having the freewill to obey the law of God. Hence David displeased God in a chain of events which ...

Have you looked at Job 38:1-16 Jac? Notice especially verse 7 - It states that ALL of the angels sang for joy when God was creating - like cheerleading! Now, people talk about man handing over the God given lease of this world to satan. I see the garden of eden as some sort of control centre on this...

Personally, the concept of Christ coming to reign on earth in physical terms fills me with excitement. I have been accused in the past of this being an earthly focus of life. However, there is a group of people who will mourn when they look on Him whom they have pierced - and rejoice when He sets u...

John 5:39 - I think one of the primary objectives of scripture was to reveal Christ. I think all translations of scripture have God's blessing - He knew that His Word would be made accessible to people of all nations. (There are no restrictions in scriptures to copy or translate, only to add or subt...

Yes, Felgar, I pretty much agree to all you have stated above. Its personally a tough one for me to distinguish between a seared conscience and walking free in the Spirit. You could say that a conscience ignored is a conscience seared but then let me quote an illustration to prove a point: A sister ...

Firstly, I want to say that God controls history and the fate of nations. Even though countries like Assyria did not have the law of Moses, still God held them accountable. He had written a moral code in the heart of the people and the leaders. He was also very patient with them through Jonah but by...

Re: Jesus' death at the hands of the Romans

Hello, We all know that Jesus was put to death on a cross by the Romans. My question is why the Jews did not stone Jesus to death? Why did they leave it up to the Romans? Apparently they had the authority to stone because they stoned Stephen. Why not Jesus? Thanks. That's a good one, lets see..The ...

Legalism and Licence under Grace

With reference to justified Christians: What are the commands that God wants us to obey now? Has He not written the law on our hearts? So, do we do what is right as long as we do not cause others to stumble? We have inherited the knowledge of good and evil. So, we cannot commit things like incest in...

The question is - 'Why did God issue the command when He knew it was going to be disobeyed?'. This is my thinking in a logical sequence: 1) God is timeless but there was a point in time when He wanted to extend the fellowship beyond the Trinity. 2) God's desire is to have a relationship with man - p...

...if Christianity was made the official religion, how did the Roman Catholics branch so far away from it, burning and killing anyone in their path? Many pagan beliefs were simply stolen and made Christian. Were they? I must say, I've been studying early history and this is the first I've heard Chr...

God will work through leaders if they allow Him to do - and He will do it, because He has a heart for humanity. If the leaders succumb to the resulting pride and give in to their selfish desires or trying to please everyone - they make compromises. So, in secular circles, either you are a people ple...

Does anyone know of anybody who accepted God's grace through Christ and then 'fell away' for the rest of their lives? All the drifters I knew (only a couple) eventually came back to Christ.

Maybe OSAS is true in a sense - just because God in His mercy always brings the prodigals back.
