Whenever Jesus was asked in the Gospels - "How do I inherit eternal life?", His reply contained two conditions: 1) Believe in me 2) Repent (no more wilful sinning) I think the thief fulfilled both. The breaking of legs makes it difficult for a person crucified to breathe - an indirect way ...

Islâm (in Arabic) means submission to the will of Allâh and obedience to His law. Everything and every phenomenon in the world, other than man is administrated totally by Allâh-made laws. Hence, they are obedient and submissive to His laws i.e. they are in the state of Islâm. Islâm is derived from ...

With God nothing is impossible

There is a statement in scripture "..with God all things are possible" Mark 10:27 1) God cannot lie 2) God cannot be taught anything new 3) God cannot cease to exist 4), 5)…. Seems like there is an infinite number of things He cannot do - Everything contrary to His nature. Possibly everyth...

Man has tried two things: 1) Reach out to God 2) Be like God Trying to rule out the input of a creator in the scheme of things, is part of 2. Its has a significant effect on the way people view life, whether they admit it or not. That is probably why more forums are dedicated to this topic rather th...

Politics and religion can be intergrated and made workable provided the right framework is in place. This is what I think is the acceptable order: 1) Theocracy, which I believe will be demonstrated by Jesus in the millenium reign - to show us perfect politics. 2) A collective of nominated elders, wi...

Hey Bobby Believing in God may or may not make life easier for you. One thing is for sure - If you trust and obey Him, He will be on your side in life - that is His eternal promise. Another thing, you can have the best hope for the future, even beyond death. An eternity with God in heaven is far bey...

I have read that the first three chapters in Genesis are the easiest to understand and translate into any language of the world. God kept the story of our origins simple enough for a child to understand. Reading between the lines and linking anthropology, geology etc to this account is a worthwhile ...

Is it a safe assumption to make that people discussing this doctrine are not in danger of falling away from the salvation process themselves? (I'm assuming now that salvation is complete only when a person inherits eternal life). The people who are the subject of this debate have rejected the gift o...

I've been brought up in the Christian cocoon of family, church and sunday school. The issue I'm struggling with right now is appreciating and understanding God's grace - since I can't remember life outside of it. I completed a degree in engineering mathematics and have been a civil engineer for the ...

Maybe I could clarify- In the 16th century people could have theorised and try to prove that there were millions of stars in the sky - It became much easier to substantiate that view after the invention of the telescope. So, when Abraham was told that his descendants would be numerous as the stars i...

The problem is that interpretations vary due to the limited vocabulary of the English language. Most of Bible teaching comes from those who use English translations. The Holy Spirit guides us into all truth. Once we know the truth we are responsible to abide by it. If someone living under God's grac...

I would have to say that my thinking on this is very similar to that of Mr Wheels. The teaching in my Church gatherings is similar to what K reponded above. There are certain topics which do not have a clear cut answer in the scriptures. Maybe God wanted us to ponder over them, so it brings us close...

This is how I understand Heaven - The location of the Throne of God - This will ultimately be among men, as described in the last few chapters of Revelation. (I also believe Jesus will literally rule on earth before this.) Justification payment - Jesus' sacrifice on the cross - only that will do and...

Why try to prove God exists?

I believe that science has not advanced enough to be able to prove the existence of God. There are no proven scientific theories to define the paranormal dimension, let alone prove its existence. God is spiritually discerned. There is plenty of evidence of His handiwork, like this website has shown ...
