Re: question about climate change and the Bible

Great lenghts have already been taken to reduce the release of CO2 and actual harmful gasses into the atmosphere by man. Very expensive methods have been implemented in a number of areas including automotive emissions, and coal fired plants. Both to reduce CO2, SO2 and NOx emisions. In fact just in...

Re: question about climate change and the Bible

I think there is every reason to think that CO2 emissions will not lead to temperature rises of any magnitude. Abundant evidence of CO2 lagging temperatures, and not driving temperatures, would be reason enough. Wouldn't it? I think it's important to separate driving temperature change from trigger...

Re: question about climate change and the Bible

Because we know that CO2 et al are greenhouse gases, and we know that both greenhouse gas concentrations and global average temperatures have increased over the past century or so. Again, this is a non-answer. We know that CO2 is a minor greenhouse gas. The above statement is just an acknowledgemen...

Re: question about climate change and the Bible

The jury is out on whether the current warming is of a greater, lesser or equal magnitude to the MWP (let's say, for argument's sake, that the MWP was warmer than it is now) but, and here's the crucial bit, ]no known natural causes or cycles can be implicated in the current warming trend . Here's a...

Re: question about climate change and the Bible

Are we all done with talk of proxies and hockey sticks? Good. The fact is the earth is warming now when all logic says that it should be cooling, and there is no natural explanation that climate sceptics can provide of what is driving the current warming trend. Sure the Milankovitch and solar cycle...

Re: Jerusalem - The center of the world!!

In looking at the map again, it is very evident that Jerusalem is at the very center of the earth if we look at the world from the longitude markers (north to south). Almost perfectly centered.. (Sweden to South Africa) Now from the latitude markers (west to east) it is not quite in the center of t...

Re: Proof of god via DNA and evolution (From another site)

This guy has some serious flaws in his understanding of reasoning/logic. From the original post DNA is not merely a molecule with a pattern; it is a code, a language, and an information storage mechanism. All codes are created by a conscious mind; there is no natural process known to science that cr...

Re: question about climate change and the Bible

DannyM - if I may ask where do you draw the line of 'utter twoddle' on the above 7 points? My laptop is down so forgive periods of absence. Let's go to 'point' number one: what is global warming? Do you even know that it is a non-word? A non-word? Increase of global temperatures over time beyond st...

Re: Dr Laura's N-word Rant

But it isn't inherently racist for a person who isn't black to use the word nigger. It's an epithet only when used as one - no matter the ethnicity of the person using it.

Re: Dr Laura's N-word Rant

Namely, that if the N word is so bad and offensive, why does it lose this trait when passing the lips of another black person? No word is offensive in itself. Not one. The offence is in the sentiment, and her sentiment seemed to have offence and ignorance by the bucketload. What makes you think tha...

Scripture and personal experience mainly. My faith and witnessing seems so much more complete based on a personal/spiritual level, rather than a rational one...if that makes sense?

Re: The complexity of life, Proof of God?

I just balk at pinning my faith on something such as this. DNA appears impossibly complex to me, but many things that you and I take for granted would have seemed so to the contemporaries of Jesus, and even to people at the start of last century. We are young in our knowledge. Please be extremely ca...

Re: The complexity of life, Proof of God?

Gabrielman - may I ask what the threshold of complexity is that you would take to mean that something could only have been created by God?

Personally I don't like using these kinds of arguments when I witness because I can't convince myself with them...

Re: Dr Laura's N-word Rant

. . I'll look for it this evening...well, after the Dodger game. (seats three rows behind the Dodger dugout which include free food, drinks (non-alcoholic), and waiter service) Can't wait! :) . . y:O2 Wow, well have fun! Gab found a little thing on it, and it sounded like she apologized because she...
