Re: How did light come before the Sun?
I have that book and find it to be very helpful although some of it seems technical to me. He says that both the young and old earth vews are correct and there is therefore no conflict at all. I do like that idea.

Re: Don Chittuck
I'll do that. I think he has tried to use non scriptural methods to prove his theory but they are the same old ones that have been disproven. For example I asked him how we can see the light from the stars if the universe is only 10,000 years old. what he told me was that light doesn't travel to ear...

Don Chittuck
I am wondering if any of you have heard of him. He is a die hard young earth creationist that I have heard speak on a few occasions. My church is scheduled to have him in early March and I am wondering how I can prepare for him being an old earth creationist. I want to speak the truth in love and I ...

Re: How did light come before the Sun?
Here are a few problems that I have with the idea that the sun was created on the 4thday. For one thing the account says there was "evening and morning.'" the argument that God provided the light just doesn't fly because evening and morning is not possible with that. The sun is needed to p...

Re: Ages according to the Bible
YEC is based on dating the earth from Adam to Christ. The dates are not inspired, at least not in the original text they are not. Also there are gaps that are in the account. Its possible that men could have lived that long, but I wasn't there so I don't know. I have heard it said that the phrase &q...

Re: Ages according to the Bible
I am talking about the dates for Adam and the other early figures. YEC is based on dating Christ to Adam and we are warned against that in 1 Timothy 1:3-7

Re: The Rapture!
I hold to the Pre-trib view because that best describes to me what the end times will be like. I guess it could be post trib. What is NOT Biblical is the preterist idea that says the tribulation happened in 70 ad. If that were the case then why is there no record from history that would describe tha...

Re: Ages according to the Bible
Someone told me that none of the dates in the Bible are inspired and therefore there is no basis to put a date on creation of any kind. I had a speaker at church who was a die hard young earther. I have yet to hear a speaker who believes in an old earth at any church I have been in.

Matthiew 19
At my church this morning we had a guest speaker at my singles group who was a die hard young earth creationist and he told me that "God had opened his eyes" and he quoted from Matthiew 19 which says from the beginning God created them male and female. He told me that Jesus is saying that ...

Thank you and I hope we get to meet someday when we stand before the Lord. By then none of this will matter. Have a good day! Very true. One question though. will we even remember our past life? When we repent god does not remember our sins. But I doubt that means the same as forgets. I personally ...

But we don't know that Jesus was single. Like I said thats just tradition. He may well have been but we don't know. I think the point McDowell probably had in mind was that whether or not Jesus was married he was still divine. Marriage doesn't affect Jesus divine nature. I would have a hard time wit...

I am not sure either but I was reacting to what someone else said. I don't think he has a problem with Jesus being married. I know thats tradition that he never married, but the scriptures never say one way or the other. At least I have never found any verse anywhere that says that Jesus was single....
