Re: How to Feel Better About Death
That's actually quite the interesting perspective and I thank you for that, but I just am having a hard time in my relationship with God to see where He is acting in my life. As in how do I know what is a super deity and what is just chance in life?

Re: How to Feel Better About Death
Um, no. No abandonment that I can think of. From what I have observed in my own life is that these moments of doubt and fear arise when I'm alone at night in my bed. It forces me to reflect on how truly alone I feel and how after death there may be nothing. I'm not sure how the Lord could reveal him...

Re: How to Feel Better About Death
Well, like I said before, I just don't want to die and have nothing come after, because that will mean almost everything I did in my life will have been for naught. But I am also afraid that I'm only fooling myself in believing in Christ because I want to make myself feel better and avoid the unfort...

"Something from Nothing" Discussion Thread
I don't quite understand the first thing about physics and science, but I thought this video from Dawkins and Krauss would be a good jumping off point for some new discussion about how they feel about religion and science and what roles they play with each other, and how much their views are represe...

Re: How to Feel Better About Death
Thanks guys, but even after reading some of the stuff, I still feel extreme doubt. It's just, I'm afraid my emotions are keeping me from believing there is no God just so that I feel better before dying. And with such a majority of people that I respect and know (many of them physics theorists and s...

How to Feel Better About Death
I am sad to say that I feel that my faith in God is wavering. I figure I might as well be honest about it if I want to truly renew my soul. In today's modern environment, anything against evolution and the basic idea that there is practically nothing after this life is counted as religious dogma. Yo...

OK, I understand now. I'm sorry for criticizing you earlier, as I was indeed offended by the title a bit.

Re: Silly looking hairy asian atheist reviews God and Scienc
No mariolee, i am not degrading him by saying he has a funny beard. If you were to wear a a hot pink shirt with holes and puke stains on it I'd probably say something too. He chooses to have a strange looking beard, he obviously wants you to see it to get attention, and look he succeeded. I'm not s...

Re: Silly looking hairy asian atheist reviews God and Scienc
While I agree making fun of someone look is certainly wrong in any way, I don't think why we can't have a good laugh over how absurd sometimes atheists respond. We are not doing it cuz they do it to us, there is no silly revenge here, it just came naturally. Sorry if you are offended, and sorry to ...

Re: Silly looking hairy asian atheist reviews God and Scienc
What the heck is up with that title? Why the discrimination? Should Christians really be the ones criticizing how one looks when John the Baptist himself ate locusts and did some pretty disgusting stuff in the desert. I mean, he wasn't exactly a looker. Seriously, this is a simple WWJD moment where ...

What Are Your Thoughts on Kenneth Miller
If you don't know who he is, a good place to start is his website: http://www.millerandlevine.com/km/evol/ I just wanted to know, as I've been following his stuff, what your opinions on him are. I realize this site mostly consists of Intelligent Design people, which is why I want to see both sides o...

Lying or Deceiving to Evangelize
Something has been bothering me about certain mission trips to evangelize, and it's more of a moral dilemma and would love to hear your guys' opinions on it. Well, the other day a friend of mine told me about how other countries will completely shut you down if you say you are going to evangelize. A...

Re: Currently Debating Moral Standards
Thank you so much for the replies guys! So, I think I may have debated myself into a corner. I've skipped over a lot of the moral standards arguments onto the character of God. Here it is so far: Him: If God is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent, as well as being the essence of love, he can kee...

Currently Debating Moral Standards
I have been debating with my friends as to how a moral standard leads us to believe in an intelligent designer, and I was wondering what your thoughts were on what my friend said: Simply having a standard doesn't prove anything as far as the scheme of the universe goes. We all have survival instinct...

Re: Losing Faith
yes, please provide the evidence, as I don't believe there is any. I don't know why Jesus doesn't reveal himself unless he wants us to be strictly faithful, which I feel goes against his wanting to spread the word. http://www.amazon.com/Case-Real-Jesus-Journalist-Investigates/dp/031024210X Yup, the...
