"I preached against homosexuality, but I was wrong"

I thought this was an interesting article to share with you all. Would love to get some commentary from you all. As a Presbyterian minister, I believed it was a sin. Then I met people who really understood the stakes: Gay men. A recent poll shows a huge shift in American attitudes toward gay marriag...

Archaeological Proof of Exodus

I've recently read that a university professor of theology claimed that there was actually no evidence for the Exodus. Their source was "The Bible Unearthed". I'm way too tired right now to do any research at the moment, but if there's any recommended reading out there for this topic.

Re: Why are atheist obsessed with God?

I know most Christians state that the reason is because God is always prompting and nudging them toward Him. But in order to make this a fufilling and thorough discussion, there needs to be two sides. Although I am a Christian, I will have to play (figuratively speaking, of course) the devil's advoc...

Re: May 21, 2011

@FredWJensen

We don't know when Christ is coming, and nothing in those two refrences designates otherwise. What those two verses are saying, are that the wise and Christians will understand. You see, we KNOW and UNDERSTAND it is coming, but others do not. We do not, however, know when.

Re: Christian apologetics insurance plan...

Derrick, This doesn't have much to do with one's personal relationship with Christ or the status with that relationship, it mostly has to do with, do we have a good reason for the hope that is within us? If we do and continue to have one that's great and that's what I'm looking for but if we don't ...

Re: Why are there so many non-believers?

To make a long explanation very short, when the wife and me got together we had long discussions on how to raise the kids, since she had two and I managed to add another later, and it was an attempt on my part to run a home as I was supposed to. Ever the period of years, I tried going to church, I ...

Re: Science Saved My Soul - New Video For You to Chew On

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6w2M50_Xdk What are your thoughts? Stupid... Whoever the narrator is obviously hasn't studied science or the meaning of religion. In fact what he is appealing to are his own religious beliefs... Completely philosophical. He didn't even address science.. Oops, forgot ...

Re: Is it a bit overwhelming sometimes?

First Mariolee, I'm not presenting to them. I'm presenting it to you. The fact that their eternal fate is at stake. Should we be concerned about their eternal condition? I think you would agree, yes. Not sure how you arrive at some of these conclusions. And you sorta present it as a "bright si...

Re: Why are there so many non-believers?

Marioloo, i think your reply shows more understanding of where I am coming from. Too many times people including me base their conclusions on what they see in front of them and the conclusions are wrong. As I began researching years ago I found that people would read the intervention of their God, ...

Re: Is it a bit overwhelming sometimes?

It seems very...cultist and condemning. Can you elaborate on why you think this is cultist? Keep in mind Mariolee, this isn't my opinion. This is what the Bible teaches. I'm definitely not saying you're wrong, but it's just the way you present the idea of hell, that they will perish for all eternit...

Re: Why are there so many non-believers?

jlay, if I want to be chastised, I have a wife for that. Are you trying to be nice? Wow, I'm impressed. Sorry if I dont have the faith you think I should have, but I've had my reasons over the years. You sound like the guys who tell me that God doesn't answer my prayers because he finds black cloth...
