there is no painful sarcasm, these very traits above are what the modern atheists harbor, most of them at least.

Re: Laws of an Atheist Utopia
Okay, that may have been a misrepresentation (still, it is the equivalent of calling Christianity stupid, which I don't think anyone would like). But he did call them evil.

Re: Laws of an Atheist Utopia
Maybe it's because I'm agnostic, but I read that with the same painful sarcasm many atheists use when talking about Christianity. This. I think it's really hypocritical to allow and cheer for this kind of blatant mockery and disrespect of a 1/6th of the world population but whine and moan when some...

Re: Does This Sound Loving?
If Jesus is the only way to God as Acts 4:12 says, then Islam is not just cruel, but eternally cruel. Why? Because it promises hell to unbeliev-- oh wait, the Bible does the same thing. Essentially, as I've said, the only possible response is "it's good when my religion does it, evil when your...

Re: Does This Sound Loving?
Guys, just ignore my last post. I am dropping the whole salvation debate. It is irrelevant . I feel so dumb for allowing myself to get sucked into it. It doesn't matter if Islam and Christianity have different requirements for salvation. They both still promise damnation to unbelievers. In that, the...

Re: Does This Sound Loving?
Whether I was a "true believer" or not is irrelevant as to this topic. I mentioned that in order to point out that I am familiar with basic Christian theology.

Re: Does This Sound Loving?
The debate has now mostly boiled down to arguing whether repentance and some level of commitment to one's faith is necessary in order to achieve salvation. Now, everyone is suddenly attempting to paint a picture of Christianity that allows one to live however they like - murder, steal, fornicate, an...

Re: If there is no God
It isn't a fallacy if the conclusions we would expect based on human nature and desire don't match, to such a degree, the universe we observe. CS Lewis made great arguments when he said that should a world exist with no meaning, we ought not to find that the universe had no meaning in the first pla...

Re: If there is no God
You're basically committing the Appeal to Consequences fallacy. Not that I necessarily agree with all your observations about atheism (for example, I do not think that, on atheism, the meaning of life is an "illusion", it is merely not objective).

Re: Salvation
Here you say:
If I misunderstood you, I apologize.
Implying that people who do not 'know God' cannot be remorseful. That people are remorseful for their sin only tells me they know God
If I misunderstood you, I apologize.

Jesus, in Matthew 25.DannyM wrote: Who ever said that?
No, it's not, but let's say that it is. Then Islam itself can be said to require "faith alone" for salvation, since repentant sinners can go to Heaven. There.
Repentance is synonymous with faith. So your comment here is off.

Re: Does This Sound Loving?
Noah, I'm a Christian, and I don't believe I have to "follow the moral precepts" to achieve salvation. In Christianity alone, God has made THE way for our salvation. John 3:16 All we have to do is believe on the finished work of Christ for salvation. It's a simple concept. All other relig...

His citation is not actually from the Koran. It is commentary from the author of Skeptic's Annotated Bible.
