There are many theological questions involved in this passage, but only a couple of them touch on your question. As I understand your question/objection, it is basically that: Free choice (concerning one's eternal destiny) is contradicted by the examples of Pharoah's 'hardening' and Paul's "ves...

Can't you see, one of the reasons atheists and non believers alike don't become Christian is sometimes the way Christians act. Many of you who call Reggie and his beloved wife names should be ashamed of yourselves. I sometimes don't blame those who don't go to church or follow Christ because of some...

Pharoah and his Hardened Heart

The case of Pharaoh has some peculiarities to it, but it still can be seen paradigmatically. 1. The sequence of events is instructive: during the first 5 plagues, Pharaoh hardened his own heart without any help from God (Exodus 7.13,14,22; 8.15,19,32; 9.7). Then God does one (9.12), then Pharaoh and...

Fortigum, Can God be seen? John 1:18 is quite emphatic that God has never been seen. John 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time... Later in John's Gospel, Jesus is even more explicit. John 5:37 And the Father himself, which hath sent me, hath borne witness of me. Ye have neither heard his voice at a...

Puritan Lad, What do you make of the following verse: 2 Tim. 3:16 - All Scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, 17 so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. and The Scripture verses concerni...

Apostles for Today

.......................................................................Are Apostles For Today??? Most evangelicals reject outright the idea that there should be apostles in today's church. This is because "the Twelve" were personally handpicked by Jesus to represent Him and were instructed...

Fortigurn, You wrote, "You have done a great job of demonstrating that where the Holy Spirit is, the presence of God is. I agree. Wherever God's Spirit is, there His presence is." Thank you, but my intent was not to show that where the Holy Spirit is the presence of God is. Now I may agree...

Puritan Lad, Must you persist in using Scriptures that has nothing to do with the topic at hand? Most of those you use are either 1)not dealing with infants or 2) your strectching Scriptures to make it support this unjust doctrine that is an insult to the nature of God. those three examples were not...

Well, I guess I see what you are saying. Many of the Scriptures of the three are refering to each Person of the Trinity's role/function and ministry, as they operate together in divine beauty and harmony as One God. To answer this and give the clearest Scriptures that deals with that, which comes to...

Well, this seems to be unquestionable, that there is one God in three witnesses. But, critique it if you'd like. Show where you feel there is error, and combat that with Scripture. We can discuss the matter. Sure 8)
