Re: A few questions from an atheist.

Evidence? *Good* evidence? For what? You want meaning? The evidence is astronomical; but somehow you reject it. Why do you reject it? What is a true belief? Well I mean, if it's really that astronomical, then I'd convert back to christianity/deism. See, here's the thing. I know I'm sort of turning ...

Re: A few questions from an atheist.

What belief are you arguing for? What is a belief? Better yet, what is a true belief? I'm not really arguing for a belief per se, just trying to ask a few questions. I'm not here trying to show you a specific scientific model that represents how the universe was created from "nothing". I'...

Re: A few questions from an atheist.

In order to make a claim as to a diety, in this case God Himself, Jesus would have had to expressed the attributes of God, namely omnipotence, omniscience and omnipresence. After intense scrutiny of the Gospels over the years, I believe Jesus did that plainly. Saying you are God is one thing. Provi...

Re: A few questions from an atheist.

Asside from you putting blind faith in somebody telling you that,, please share with us what 'evidence' you have personally examined and tested regarding this claim. Well, there are many theories as to how the universe could have emerged from nothing. We may not know for sure yet, but scientists ar...

Re: A few questions from an atheist.

Yes, but nobody ever listens. The evidence exists from statements from early in the Bible predicting stuff that'll happen in the future, usually later books in the Bible. Also, God gave a very accurate description of nuclear war. Stars are hydrogen fusion fireballs, exactly the same as nuclear bomb...

Re: A few questions from an atheist.

Well, we speak of what we know. Yes its stereotypical, but unfortunately there are often reasons for stereotypes. Don't you find it odd that so many people have the same basic experience with many atheists. There are obviously people out there who are atheists and treat other people decently... but...

Re: A few questions from an atheist.

Some atheists are arrogant, hateful people who despise god and want nothing more than to be right. Others are quiet, passive people who generally don't become involved with debate or discussion. From my own perspective, I usually only have a bone to pick with those who unabashedly attack my faith w...

A few questions from an atheist.

A little background information: I started off as an evangelical/baptist christian, as this is what both my parents happened to be. I was young, and still had the preconception that my parents were always right, and that I should blindly follow everything they believed. Now, once I began to form opi...
