Re: God's thought in eternity

Hey, just so you guys know, I'm going with Einsteins theory of time (well, actually general relativity) right now. Any response to my idea - that is, for God everything is happening in his now ? Btw, that would confirm that God only has one thought throughout all of eternity. Or perhaps He just has ...

Re: God's thought in eternity

Hmm, some strange ideas. First of all, as they say in Texas: Time is Gods' way of keeping everything from happening at once. But God is outside of time. So... :esurprised: 2) As for visiting the past: Well, God is everywhere in time at once. There is no T, T+1, etc. In fact, since time is a creatio...

Re: Meaning and purpose to Atheists...

No replies?

Well I want to say that I read about Nietzsche and it seems that he died from a "mysterious mental illness". Honestly, I think he collapsed under the stress of trying to accept that there is no objective morality, which he knew his worldview implied. :shakehead:

Why is there something rather than nothing?

This is probably more of a question to atheists, but it's a fairly general idea. On almost every level, it always seems more natural, or more likely, that something doesn't happen or doesn't exist. Only when another force intervenes does something happen/exist, because it is easier to not ___ than t...

Re: Complexity of life

The numbers are lying, they're lying I tell you! No but seriously, the numbers aren't lying, they're ridiculous . The only theory that I think makes any sort of rebuttal to the design argument is the multiverse theory, but: 1) It seems that no one has developed a final version of it. 2) It's n...

Re: science and assumption

1) I don't think you have any idea what philosophy is. It's a much broader term than you seem to think of. 2) All your ideas imply is that we have no idea who is right, so why bother? The ultimate agnostic. Well, if you can live with that then fine... 3) Your idea of believing science is a misleadin...

Re: Could Jesus Accept someone like this?

Mistakes are not sins. The bible says, that sin is transgression of the law. If a child messes up tying their shoes, are they sinning? No. Did Jesus look up from the manger at the wise men, and speak in perfect Aramaic? I doubt it. What I wonder about is how the two following verses fit together: J...

Re: Question about god and science?

Nothing you said I disagree with here Paul. All I'm saying is that whatever arguments are posited by atheists for the non-existence of God, I believe it is our duty to provide sound counter-arguments and not rest on the idea that it's inexplicable because it's a mystery. Ultimately you're right tho...

Re: Something I desperately need to know...

It would of course be ridiculous to say that any theory is 100% certain. That said, I don't think atheistic evolution is any more (or less) falsifiable or repeatable ( ) than ID. Legatus is a bit aggressive, but he has a point - the biggest argument against evolution (or the most obvious) is ...
