Re: Theory Of Adaptation

Forgive me if this is a dumb question, as I don't know a ton about evolutionary theory. What leads scientists to believe that australopithecus and the others are ancestors of modern humans? I mean, what in the evidence suggests that these extinct species were not from a completely different evoluti...

Re: Chicken or Egg

I think the best explanation is currently OEC, because the fossil evidence (that there is) for supposed macroevolution doesn't agree with DNA. Pretty much like the explanations given on this site. How does the fossil evidence not agree with the DNA? I mean, there are only a few places we even have ...

If it's a matter of time it's unfortunate we're not very certain about matter or time.

Re: Christian Genocide

Soviet Russia wasn't directly about atheism. It was about purging culture and society to make way for communism or actually dictatorship. Religion was a part, a big part, but that wasn't the focus. The USSR was like a quarantine - most people didn't know what happened outside of it and were taught b...

Re: Question about god and science?

Well... There is a lot more science and quantum physics behind it than just believing that anything can happen for no reason at all in a multiverse. Observed quantum instability and fluctuations and whatnot. Yeah, but in the end the idea is that in the multiverse universes are constantly created, b...

Re: Objective Morality?

Pros, does our mortal physical life cease? It may well do. Saying that all dead things were once alive does not mean that all that is alive will die, I'll admit it seems likely. If I were a betting man...... Matter of fact, did your great-great-great grand father's physical mortal life cease? I hav...

Re: Objective Morality?

I don't have to prove anything. Objective truths testify of themselves as to their objectivity, unless that is, you want to admit that the objective truths of the laws of math, physics, chemistry, and biology are not objective in and of themselves unless and until humans and their perceptions came ...

Re: Objective Morality?

I hear many Creationists argue that without a God, we wouldn't have "Objective Morality". What leads us to believe certain actions are right and wrong? While I do agree that we are given these right and wrongs by God, I don't believe the animal kingdom proves any less 'Moral' than us, in ...

You like eggs, icecream, pizza, cake, fish, jello, chicken, taco sauce, soda, oranges, milk, egg rolls, and yogurt so you must like this yummy dish made out of all of them.
I suppose logical fallacies must make for bad cooking.

Re: Index of Common Logical Fallicies

It's going to take a while to read all of that. Would be nice to know the terminology though, because right now when someone says "strawman" I have no idea what they're talking about.

This guy is basically saying: This is all so weird and incredible it couldn't possibly be true? I mean, come on? Welcome to 21. century science.

Re: Evidence for Free Will?

Here's something: If God predestined everything and He is loving and would want everyone to be saved, then wouldn't He predestine everyone to earn salvation? After all, God hates sin, so how could He essentially make people do it? Wouldn't that be inconsistent with His nature - that is, impossible f...
