Re: I Have Never Experienced God Personally

Where I live I certainly don't know any good church or something similar. I have been to "corporate churches" and honestly, they feel almost... commercial. I used to go to a smaller church, which was quite nice - most of the people were from one neighborhood and knew each other well. I don...

Re: For theistic evolutionists, question about Eve's creatio

Why say break laws? Nature cant produce such effects so God does it himself or gives nature a momentary higher effect to attain his will. I think its a mistake saying "breaking natural laws" it already gives the wrong impression. Totally agree. It's only breaking the laws we know of . If ...

Re: For theistic evolutionists, question about Eve's creatio

I like to think that God creates laws and tries to follow them as much as He can, but sometimes He has to break them because He couldn't reach His desired goal then - like say, creating humans with a spirit. I'm an OEC, but I think God had a somewhat passive role in the development of nature. Not in...

Re: Apologetics not evidenceof anything?

If apologetics aren't evidence, then neither are the "atheist apologetics". Sure, they don't call them that, but essentially they are. In which case almost all people alive today should be agnostics, since we don't really know what is true. Have him explain though why they don't count. Rig...

Re: Debunking Dawkins?

May I ask exactly who Rich is?? I have a confession to make, i never actually read the board's announcements and guidelines, i just came right into the discussion forum :esmile: Try reading the "Personal" section of the main site. And more of the main site in general. I think Rich also re...

Re: The Medical "Benefits" of Smoking Marijuana

The main idea I get from reading all of this seems simple enough... marijuana is a plant with a lot of potential that is being used in the wrong way. If the plant contains so many valuable chemicals, then refining, extracting and exploiting these chemicals could prove to be very valuable. But a lot...

Re: Atheist delusions

I always do think that its not worth it... these people aren't open and no amount of evidence is going to change their minds, it takes God to really change their hearts. And your mind is open because you only believe in ONE system? Throughout my life, it's seemed that atheists are the ones with the...

I don't think the Bible is very much against any political system, but people can't run any of them properly. :shakehead:

Re: Homosexuality

Many "extreme" Christians say that god hates homosexuality above many other sins, so i suppose that is where my question of if god truly did hate it and waned all to know how much he hated it, why would Jesus not speak about it. And why do Christians protest homosexuality so much, It is l...

Re: Christian Genocide

I stress again that you do not know what the SSSR was or exactly how it formed. America is very different from the SSSR. It is very different even from modern Russia. Why the comment about conspiracy theorists? Because nowadays in America they tend to exaggerate. The USA government today is very dif...

Re: going to hell?

Kristoffer, you are by far exaggerating the amount of mutations that occur, the ones that are beneficial (there are only two that scientists claim are beneficial, one quickly ceased to exist in further generations, the other was later found to actually be cumbersome) and the power of natural selecti...

Re: science and assumption

The word faith was never originally meant to mean anything like 'blind faith'. In fact, asking the Apostles their view of 'blind faith', you'd probably find they'd interpret it much the same way we'd say 'honest lie' or any other contradiction. Faith is based on the same meaning as the word 'faithf...

Re: Why is there something rather than nothing?

Oh, I think I got the ontological argument. Since a MGB is possible and it is better to exist than to not exist, then a MGB exists. Well that has a lot more weight than the multiverse.

Re: Christian Genocide

Atheism was an inseparable part of communism, because it gave people Faith, Hope and a belief in something greater than the SSSR or a dictator. However, the SSSR was about power, not destroying religion. That was not it's most direct goal. Besides, destroying religion was just a part of destroying ...

Re: "Refutation" of the Cosmological Argument (AndromedasWak

Yup. What I find especially interesting is not only did he deny philosophy, he denied all of modern science. Besides, 4 and 5 basically destroy the idea of infinite universes, since that would be a logical contradiction.
