Re: Questions from a new Christian

If the odds are .00000000000000000008 that life began through unguided material processes, the atheist will say, "See there is a chance." They are bound to suppress the truth in unrighteiousness. They will take a bet that they wouldn't take in any casino with their own life at stake or mo...

Re: Why isn't the Bible...better?

Why didn't God make the Bible just AWESOME? Like SUPER SUPER solid and unquestionably irrefutable, perfectly accurate, no question as to whether or not things are contradictory? Any insight? What are you talking about?? The Bible already is SUPER solid, perfectly accurate, unquestionably irrefutabl...

Re: Why isn't the Bible...better?

I've seen lists of 'hundreds of contradictions' only to investigate the lists and find maybe a handful of possible things to talk about. The fact is, the level of criticism aimed at the Bible far surpasses the level of criticism aimed at any other written work in the history of mankind and here we ...

Re: Consistency of the Bible?

I think the second poster is correct that you will likely find that several of the 700 inconsistencies can be explained somewhat. However there are many that can not be explained and, in my opinion, if only one inconsistency is really an inconsistency, then the bible is not the "word" of a...

Re: Doubts

When I was a little boy in Sunday school I thought there was much, much more documentation of the life of Christ than I now think there is. I have serious doubts now about the whole thing. I imagine I will always have those doubts. However if my doubts are wrong I do not want to be damned and I wan...

Re: Origin of other Religions

In Genesis 6 the Scripture talks about how the sons of God had children with the daughters of men. This brought to me the thought of other religions. The first that comes to mind is Greek then Roman. I honestly do not believe any religion is "made up" and that these "gods" could...

Re: Bart Ehrman vs. Reginald Finley

Yea, Reggie gets confused easily. I used to listen to his podcasts... He gets things wrong a lot, argues stupid points and gets stumped when there are clear answers to his guests statements/arguments. He's on the right track, but he's just not that smart of a guy and other people just destroy him.

Re: Question and concern about human/animal hybrids

Assuming you do have a soul that is going to survive your death and go to heaven and allow you to be conscious up in heaven, shouldn't you always remain somewhat conscious under general anesthesia, or when knocked out in a boxing match or car accident, or when blacking out after a night of heavy dri...

Re: Some questions concerning the arguments for God:

Here are just some random questions that i've come across concerning the main arguments for God's existence. 1. The Cosmological argument: Many atheists say that we don't know very much about the Big Bang so its perfectly valid, in fact they say almost necessary, that we should conclude that we jus...

Re: Laws of an Atheist Utopia

This post was funny. I'm guessing you just randomly made this up without thinking it through at all or trying to make valid points. You could make a similarly ridiculous list for the christian utopia. Average IQs are higher among atheists than among the religious, but thank you for calling us stupid...

Re: Adam and Eve?

Many christians don't believe in Adam and Eve, but if they didn't exist, then why original sin? why Jesus Christ? if Adam and Eve didn't exist, then doesn't that just eliminate Christianity? A lot of Christians these days pick and choose what to believe from the bible - the word of God. There is ev...

Re: Why is Richard Dawkins so popular?

I have a completely contrary impression. They want us to think that they're confident, while in reality, they're at least subconsciously aware that they could likely be wrong, and we know what that would lead to. That's why they resort to insults and humiliation, but demoralizing your opponent in a...

Re: Why is Richard Dawkins so popular?

Hey guys! You can't use YouTube thumbs (up or down) or any other online poll to determine what the population thinks - especially about religion. There are a few reasons: 1. The internet is not a random sampling of the population. People on the internet are generally more intelligent/wealthy/educate...
