Re: Is the Christian God the same as the Islamic god?
Unless it can be shown that WikiIslam is telling falsehoods in this article, then I don't care what else they do. Biased people can still tell the truth, and this article has an indicia of reliability because it relies on valid, external sources like the Hans Wehr Arabic dictionary. Let's not get ca...

Re: Is the Christian God the same as the Islamic god?
I did read those quotes. It does not say that people will deceive but Allah will spread the truth; it says that people will deceive but Allah is the best deceiver. Very clearly, the Quranic argument is not that Allah counters deceit with truth, but participates in deceit just as evildoers do. Regard...

Re: Is the Christian God the same as the Islamic god?
You are probably thinking of 2 Thessalonians 2:9-11. You're taking it out of context; Scripture says that at this point, the followers of Satan would have already perished due to their dislike for the truth. God is merely giving them up to Satan's system once they're too far gone to be saved. It is ...

Re: Is the Christian God the same as the Islamic god?
I take the (possibly controversial) opinion that Allah is Satan, and Muhammad was possessed by him. Compare Jesus and Muhammad. Jesus preached forgiveness, kindness, and love of one's brother. Muhammad preached the exact opposite; he was a brutal warlord who beheaded his enemies and had a child wife...

Re: Experience with Atheist forums
I've stopped by atheist websites, but I tend not to stick around because of the sheer amount of anger that just drips off the page. I'm not saying that all atheists are riled up, but many of the atheists I see online seem like they have a chip on their shoulder about Christianity and all Christians...

Re: I want to start my own apologetics website. Thoughts?
Haha, I agree. My strategy would be to present a less detailed but more high-impact website. There are many places that pour over every detail. Instead, this is meant to distill some of the most relevant arguments so that it will grab and retain the attention of casual surfers. I'm hoping the unusua...

Re: Imaginary GOD? I think not
I wonder if the author really believes what he's writing or not. I can never tell.Jesus is actually in our midst. So he is right here already, supposedly. Yet when we pray to him to physically materialize, as he did to hundreds of others, nothing happens.

My take on faith in Christianity
Hi everyone. I wanted to talk a little bit about one feature of Christianity that really attracted me to it, and that's the nature of faith. I think that, as a society, we're inclined to shy away from faith and instead stay undecided on uncertain matters. That's reasonable and I can see the logic to...

Re: I want to start my own apologetics website. Thoughts?
I wanted to do something similar. I've written two extensive apologetic volumes (over about 6 years), but have not finished either. I keep adding to them and finding new things I want to add. And I love to edit, reorganize ("to infinity and beyond!") One is devoted to inerrancy issues, ho...

I want to start my own apologetics website. Thoughts?
Hi everyone. Lately I've felt compelled to make my own Christian apologetics website. I wanted to run the theme by people here to see what they think. I'm really interested in the law. I recently graduated law school and I'm about to sit for the bar exam, so I wanted to theme my website around a tri...

I've always wondered about the legitimacy of how the Bible was put together. I'm very interested in knowing what resources exist regarding the authenticity of the Bible process.

Re: Here is some more atheist propaganda to refute...
This article utilizes one of the most common news propaganda techniques of our age. At the end, it does toss in the very true statement that it is still unexplained as to why we have laws of physics in the first place. But, the vast majority of the article from the title to the last paragraph is fra...
