Re: Eternal Security...
Are you talking about when the bible says to be "wise as serpents and harmless as doves". If you are then that has nothing to do with laying egg but to be harmless as a dove just like a dove. if he wonted us to lay eggs he would have told us to lay eggs like chickens not doves. Nice defle...

Re: Eternal Security...
Please address my questions. The scriptures I mentioned are Jesus speaking plainly and not using figurative language. Do you believe Jesus really means to literally tear out your eye if it offends you? Did He also mean to lay eggs when He said to be like doves? So I guess did He really not say what ...

Re: Evidence for theistic evolution
This is generally so. It kind of reaches a "critical mass" though when an outsider such as myself, disinclined as I am to believe what looks to me like a buncha hooey no different from any other religion, when I see such a consistent pattern of some or all of low education, gullibility / ...

Ugh, again!
John 6:35-40
How can Jesus lose those that are given to Him? Can someone be given to Him but then be lost later?
Are you saying that those He raises up on the last day are not necessarily all of those who are given?

Re: salvation and works
Actually that can not be because every Christian must carry there cross. That statement was for every Christian not just for the ones that are be killed. We put all pick up our cross or we are not following Jesus. Paul said he crucified the flesh daily. Carrying your cross is about doing right even...

Re: TO VAX OR NOT TO VAX, THAT IS THE QUESTION
But what about Rick's point above, Byblos? Suppose of the fifty children, 49 vaccinate. If one does not and he goes to the class, how is he putting the other 49 at risk? They have been vaccinated . I was just about to ask that. I don't know how I feel about this whole thing. If an un vaccinated chi...

Re: salvation and works
On the Atlantic side of things, I think "picking up your cross" is a symbol of likely persecution for being a follower of Christ.

I'm sure there will be a LOT of people in heaven, but few in comparison to every human that has ever lived on the face of the earth.

John 6:35-40 35 Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. 36 But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. 37 All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I w...

Re: Does Evolution and Science draw people away from God?
tho why Christians felt that needed to be tacked onto the Jesus story isnt clear to me. Tacked on? Story? The gospels can be reliably understood as accounts, not just a story. Please explain. I guess you think early Christians had unsavory motives and felt they needed to "tack" it on? I d...

Re: Evidence for theistic evolution
Bad evidence is not evidence at all. that just means that an assumption is wrong. Incorrect. It is still evidence, though not convincing. This is why it generally takes more than one piece of evidence put together to solve something. Once again, you're missing a chocolate bar. What happened to it? ...

I'm not saying there is! You clearly have no idea what evidence is. Even bad evidence is still evidence.jpbg33 wrote:there is no fossils that prove animals evolve. There is assumptions but no real evidence.
What about my chocolate bar analogy did you not understand?

Re: Evidence for theistic evolution
There is no evidence. That's simply not a true statement. You can reject the evidence or interpret it another way, but you cannot say there is none at all... Hang on, when you say "no evidence" do you really mean "nothing that confirms that it's 100% true?" Once again, just beca...
