Re: Was Paul a False Apostle?
That is a lot like calling me a crackpot, however indirectly. Regardless, what I said is based on some simple analysis of accurate information about snakes. The bit about "conspiracy" is suggestive of a cheap shot. Dont be like that. As to your proffered explanations: There are no vipers ...

Re: Was Paul a False Apostle?
I'd love to see it as a court case, with "Paul " being called on to reenact that snake story. Scatter some sticks about, and a snake. Watch how he gathers them one by one, not noticing that one of them is a snake, who for it's part does not notice he has been gathered and offers no object...

Re: Where did Jesus body go?
The way I understand it, the Romans allowed the Jews to take dead bodies down before sundown. It wouldn't surprise me especially in this instance because Pilate was afraid of an uprising- which is why he agreed to crucify Jesus in the first place.

Was Paul a False Apostle?
Sorry if this is the wrong place for this thread. Feel free to move it to wherever. In this thread I propose we discuss the reliabilty of the accounts of Paul and Luke. It has been suggested by some that Paul was a fraud and that his experiences were totally unbelievable. Here is a response by Willi...

1 Corinthians 11:10
I've never quite understood this verse. What do the angels have to do with it?

And does backsliding cause Him to lose you or were you never given to Him in the first place if you backslide?jpbg33 wrote:You can look at this way to why should we confess our sins if he is going to forgive them any ways. That verse is another reason I think it is possible to backslide.

Re: Evidence for theistic evolution
Just a few problems I have with your questions. "what cased the big bang" Nothing to do with evolution. "why did thing stop evolving" The current view is that things didn't and (I believe) that things never will. " what started life" Nothing to do with evolution. Before...

Re: Does Evolution and Science draw people away from God?
Maybe we should make a new thread about Paul and Luke and discuss whether or not we can trust their accounts and why.

So, according to your interpretation of 1 John, every time you sin then you are not saved?jpbg33 wrote:That couldn't be talking about people in heaven. It was just saying that people that are going around sinning that they are not Christians.

Re: Does Evolution and Science draw people away from God?
But does this pass any smell test, have you thought it thru? How can you test it? Is that your whole point? Better throw out most of established history then since we can't test a lot of it. I accept it as reliable because I accept Luke as reliable. He was a very reliable historian and follower of ...

Re: Evidence for theistic evolution
To me it conjures images of a 19th century British gentleman of leisure who putters about his country estate taking note of the whereabouts of Ms hedgehog, and when the daffodils bloomed. Why in the world would you have a problem with that? Because that's pretty awesome, IMO! "Come along, cedr...

Re: Does Evolution and Science draw people away from God?
I first got suspicious of him hijacking the Jesus thing, with his transparently phony snake story. If you're of an analytical sort, see if you can figure how to disassemble that story in court. Well, IIRC it was Luke who wrote the story as he was with Paul when it happened. More amazing things have...

Nothing to say to him? Who, me? Nothing really needs to be said for the most part other than what I have already. (And I'm already arguing with him in another thread) It is clear that he is utterly unwilling to even consider looking at it from another angle, which is quite sad. If he wants to be th...

Re: Eternal Security...
SO... Are you saying that those who do not try to live right are not given to Him then? I don't necessarily disagree with that. What if someone tries to live right sometimes but doesn't other times? Were they only given to Him part of the time or would you say they were never given to Him to begin w...
