Yehren on transitionals: There's quite a number of those. Would you like to learn of some of them? There are no "transitional forms", my friend. There are what many think are transitional forms. Hmmm... maybe you should define "transitional." There seem to be a very great number ...

Luke 17:21
Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

Doesn't sound vague to me.

It is nonsense. Explain everything by making still empty claims. No, it's a fact. For example, the first directly-observed instance of an irreducibly complex system evolving was in bacteria. The first instance of an organism developing the ability to digest a synthetic plastic was in bacteria. Woul...

The record is pretty clear on that. The more you know about biology, the less likely you are to reject evolution.

Fossil record shows sudden appearance and statis of species....and that's just one thing that comes to mind. Often, it does. But sometimes, when a population is very numerous and/or is in an environment where fossilization is common, we see a very gradual process. Even Stephen Gould, the apostle of...

Why don't you show how they can be reconciled, instead of just making smart remarks on behalf of "most Christians"? I don't see any conflict. What do you think the conflict might be? You can't reconcile a conflict that doesn't exist. For one, Christianity teaches that man is the crown of ...

Since [bacteria] reproduce themselves, in favourable conditions, every twenty minutes, they might be expected to evolve faster than any other organism That's what we see. They evolve much faster than eukaryotes in general and metazoans in particular. Most of the evidence for evolution of new featur...

How to falsify evolution.... 1. Show that speciation is impossible. 2. Show that there is no such thing as natural selection 3. Show the fossil of a mammal in undisturbed Cambrian deposits. Among many, many others. How do any of those falsify evolution? 1. Show that speciation is impossible. With ma...

I guess the best way to test the idea is to make a list of apomorphies for birds, and a set for dinosaurs, and then see if any are shared. Anyone want to try? Let's take Archaeopteryx. Who wants to make a list of the number of bird characteristics, and the number of dinosaur characteristics it has? ...

I have yet to see how anyone, including the Pope, can reconcile the ToE and Christianity.
Like most Christians, I have yet to see how anyone can show any conflict.

Actually, the evolution of new species has been directly observed. Few creationists still deny macroevolution in terms of the evolution of new taxa. Even the Institute for Creation Research has endorsed the view that all the species we see today evolved from a few kinds that were carried on the Ark.

Since the current Pope says that it is "virtually certain" that all organisms on Earth have a common ancestor, it's virtually certain that such a view is compatible with Christianity. Most scientists think of it as Gould did; there is a place beyond which science cannot go, and that concer...
