Re: God and stuff?

Danny Explain why you assume this. What understanding of biology must I have here, and why? I assumed that because from what i can tell you all are very genuine and aren't xtian stereotypes. While i don't know how much biology you would need to know, the reasons why is so you aren't subjecting yours...

Re: God and stuff?

Sorry danny, iam lost like a child at the mall without his/her parents like a blonde person taking a math test like a dog at the rodeo. Then it's time to let go of mummy and daddy's hand and use the reading ability you've been taught to get reading. I've highlighted the areas you need to concentrat...

Re: God and stuff?

There is a difference between anthropomorphism and ascribing as in you are doing. which is? c'mon don't leave me hangin' If you are using that definition of arbitrary, then I don't really have a problem. :D Let's not move the goal post. I changed goals posts as you say because you did give an answe...

Re: God and stuff?

I think the error you are making here is trying to ascribe human qualities to an eternal, transcendent being. And religion doesn't do that too? just not in the ways in which we are limited or constrained What does that mean? Prove it. But you have yet to show how that is arbitrary Arbitrary: subjec...

Ok? But that essentially isn't guessing about the unknown and never really having anything to back it up. Using this metaphysics sounds like a 2 way street.
But oh well i guess it is good mental exercise.
Hope you see the point.

Re: God and stuff?

Just because you ask the clouds not to rain doesn't mean they can here you. And just because you say God doesn't exist doesn't mean he doesn't ;) What you're continuously missing Sailor is something very simple: Science is not all we have to depend on, which you've said in past comments. There is a...

Re: God and stuff?

Exactly, you are saying how He acts is arbitrary. How do you conclude that the Christian god is acting arbitrarily? Don't just say it. Provide an argument with evidence. saying otherwise would contradict what he means. Saying he doesn't act abitrary implies that there is something objective that ac...

Re: God and stuff?

@danny:Oh... so we agree that god is outside of science? If all you have a problem is that some people say for a fact that god doesn't exist, then iam cool. @J: Your position assumes that God is arbitrary Iam confused by what you mean. Iam saying how he makes the world is abitray, not him is that th...

Re: God and stuff?

@J And how do you arrive at this conclusion? Be specific. Is he not incontrol? Just like how we can change the meaning of words, god can change everything no? I remeber seeing in a moive called the mokey trials i think. William jenning brayn said "god is in control of natural law, he can change,...

Re: God and stuff?

Jlay: Can you prove that claim scientifically? No, you can't. So, I guess your statement isn't part of nature or even real. I don't know if you are serious or testing me. But... something doesn't need to be proven, scientifically or otherwise to be real of natural. And besides you are asking proof f...

Re: God and stuff?

J: The reason why science goes with naturalism is because that is what it is all about. The things we can measure, test and prove. If we go beyond that will we ever find anything? Diving into the super natural realm is even more endless then the natural realm. Science is about the natural world no? ...
