Re: Jesus lived and buried in Kashmir?
If you maintain how the Bible describes Jesus' death to be true, that is.

Also, as if the crucifixion wasn't enough, a guard stabbed Jesus in the side with a spear. I'm not sure how someone could survive a flogging, a crucifixion, and a spear to the side.

Re: If God is all-knowing...
This might seem like a very elementary analogy, but does placing a delicious steak in front of someone force the person to eat it? They still have the choice to eat or deny the gift of food.

Re: If God is all-knowing...
I would even argue the book Alcoholics Anonomus has helped many people and brought them back to God. If that isn't divine inspiration I don't know what is. God comes to all people my friend, not just to some. I don't think anyone here is arguing that God only tries to reach a select few. The Bible'...

I would say masturbation simply because hormones are a permanent part of our system. The nicotine is something that can be kicked out of our systems relatively easily, just because it is not a chemical that we always had (from puberty onward) and will have.

Re: Sex Ed
I'm just speaking from personal experience here. I, in your original post, you made it sound like the schools that promote abstinence (which is the safest policy if nothing else) do not teach anything about sex in any way shape or form. I only just graduated from high school. When I was in health/PE...

Re: Predestination
I'm sure this was probably already addressed at some point in other threads, but just because God knows what you're going to do does not mean that He determined beforehand that it would be like that.If he knows I'm going to lie, then he simply knows. I don't think He programmed me to lie in that spe...

Re: Pat Robertson knows who the next president will be!
I think that's really all we can know at this point: who we're voting for. I still have a while to research the candidates and their positions, so we'll see who has my vote.

And it's not Obama! http://www.newsmax.com/US/Robertsonpredictionselectionpresident/2012/01/04/id/423017 I just honestly don't understand :shakehead: It's times like these that I feel bad knowing my Grandma actually follows Pat on the 700 Club. And what's really disconcerting about his statements is...

Yeah, I completely agree. When I first read Mere Christianity I didn't get it at all, but after I read it a second time I was completely blown away on how much sense he made.
