C.S. Lewis
I have seen a wide range of opinions over various different posts in this forum on C.S. Lewis. This is to bring all the opinions in one place because I am really interested to see what people have to say about him. Some praise him for being one of the greatest Christian intellectuals of the 20th cen...

Re: Why do many christians not like homosexuals?
Although I agree with you that people are not born gay, zacchaeus, your point isn't very convincing. You say that if someone was born this way, they wouldn't be able to change, but then you say one can have an operation to change one's sex. You go on to say that this didn't really change them. Apply...

Re: thank you, everyone
Congrats Josh
Praise God!
Also, I recommend The Screwtape Letters. It made me a lot more aware of pitfalls I would face as a Christian. Plus, it's just a really good read.

Re: Original Sin, and babies who die
Also, God knows what will happen to us. That's not to say he observes the infinite possibilities of what could be. In C.S. Lewis's "Problem of Pain", he says that there are some things that he believes are inherently impossible. I think God judging someone on what might have happened doesn...

Re: What is a 'soccer mum'?
People usually refer to it in a negative light. Like I was watching The Office and Kelly made the comment: "I am NOT gonna be one of those soccer moms schlepping my kids around in a minivan." (She goes on to say that she wants an SUV :pound: ) But it basically refers to a mom who is the st...

Re: Negation of Free Will
Thanks for all of your posts. I've really just wanted to give up lately. I feel like if I refuse to give up my sins, He won't accept my plea for salvation. I mean, I know that sounds all mixed up, but my mind's all mixed up lately. I'm trying though. I really don't want to give up. I apologize for m...

Negation of Free Will
Would knowing without a doubt that God exists really negate free will? I have seen some people on this forum (I don't have any specific examples on hand) argue that if we saw God, it would negate our freedom to choose Him. I've had thoughts lately that this is simply not the case, mainly because of ...

Re: What is hell like?
Going along with what cheezerrox said: http://hell-know.net/ If anyone would like to read some of the main points and refute them with biblical evidence, that would be awesome. I'm really searching for answers on this subject. The site basically just goes into more detail about the points that cheez...

Re: Christianity and secular music
Although it's not worship music, I would consider mewithoutYou a Christian band. Their lyrics basically a stream of confessions and highlight of the struggles of leading a righteous life in Christ. They've been one of my favorite bands for about a year and a half now.

Re: God's Will For Careers
Good question, Marcus. I'll be praying that it will be revealed to you
I would offer advice, but I'm kind of in the same boat. I'm wondering if God wants me to be a nurse, which is what I'm studying to be right now, or if he wants me to do something else.
God bless.

Re: Benny Hinn
Thank you for posting that video, inlovewiththe44. I was trying to eat my Cocoa Pebbles, and then I :xxpuke: Just kidding. I think it is quite obvious that this guy is a charlatan. Anybody with any discernment, can see that. The video, just makes this fraud more obvious. I don't remember who it was...

A slightly comical, but very disturbing depiction of what goes on in the church of Benny Hinn. I put this in the "Aberrant Christianity" because what's going on in the video seems pretty aberrant to me.
