Yes, but it's still all personal.
I should better admit that it's personal and I dislike everything green, than trying to rationalize wishful thinking - which is an intellectual dishonesty

Re: Why care about Science if Christianity is true?
Yes, I admit my bias. Because I clearly remember how greens banned genetical engineered plants. It's hard for a person like me to find a job in my field. So let's ban a whole science branch. So let people stay jobless. Damn them. Who cares about green stuff when people don't have jobs and jobs are t...

Re: Why care about Science if Christianity is true?
Jesus Christ, I have to admit something. I hate green politics. I hate Greenpeace. I hate econuts. I hate treehuggers. I hate green supporters in the Parliament or in the Congress. They've done too much to harm science. May they rot in hell. I think that my aversion towards greenism is going to spoi...

Re: Why care about Science if Christianity is true?
Biblically I can't really answer that.. I don't really see anything wrong with it. I would question the motive of it however. It might sound cool, but where is this mindset heading toward? Again I would stress what can we do to repair the current world that we have now rather than throw out gobs of...

So, according to you the Bible is anti-space exploration?Gman wrote: I would say using science to escape the planet (and colonize other worlds) is more of a "survival of the fittest" evolutionary mindset. Using science to repair the planet is more a Biblical mindset.

Why care about Science if Christianity is true?
Greetings, I have a problem with the concept of Christianity about End times. It's so depressing because I do care about science. For example, we have a huge rover called Curiosity that's headed to the surface of Mars. Mars, a planet of dreams, a planet with a posibility of microbial life... a plane...

Re: Argument from bad design. Very, very bad design!
Ah, not being fair Zev, this whole statement begs the question. God made a free world. It turned malevolent because God just so happened to give man, you and me, free will as well. Ah there you go, you can do what you like, help or kill, feed or starve, up to you. The choices that you do make on yo...

Re: Argument from bad design. Very, very bad design!
Zvez, First, I would like to say that an argument from a "very, very bad design", never proves anything. To you a design may seem bad, really bad, like I don't like the design of the new Nokia N9. I prefer others but does that make it a bad design just because it doesn't work for me. I me...

Re: Argument from bad design. Very, very bad design!
If the creation was perfect we would not die and would have no need to seek God, God seeks a relationship with us and wants us to make a choice and has provided a system that was designed in such a way that we could freely make that choice. That's very interesting and at the same time disturbing. T...

Why would a God create a creation that's not perfect? This would prove his impotence.Danieltwotwenty wrote:God said his creation was good not perfect, it was never meant to be perfect, if it was perfect we would live forever. Genesis 1:10
This goes the same for design, it is good not perfect.

Argument from bad design. Very, very bad design!
Sup peeps, I think that one of the strongest arguments against theism and Christianity is the argument from bad design... I had some very nasty choking experiences and they even grew up into fear of choking. I had fear when eating my food. I overcame my fears, but in the end I'm a biologist... It se...

Very interesting... but I guess I still can't force myself to love him. Perhaps I'm not sensitive enought.

Re: I am forced to love God (if he exists)
I guess I can speak for myself I consider myself a moral person and as a moral person I prefer not to be rude with other people. I keep in mind that other people have feelings and it's easy to hurt these feelings
According to my moral point of view, rudeness is amoral.
