Re: Noahs Flood and Pangea.
Dayage,
Honestly, I meant to say "Persian Gulf" rather than the "Arabian Sea", which lies further south. In between trying to juggle responsibilities, sometimes it's easy to mix up geographical locations!

Re: Noahs Flood and Pangea.
sandy_mcd, Thank you for the links. I will read through them. Washington State is a place I've never been to, although I understand there are some great geological and natural features there. :-) The plaque dedicated to Mr. Bretz is...I want to say it is "good", but I'm looking for a bette...

Re: Neanderthals and modern humans---maybe not related after
Ummmmm... For the record, Gman, I am not at all opposed to the idea that God might have used evolution as a means to bring about life as it is on Earth, no more opposed to the idea that God used the laws of physics to keep things from flying out of our atmosphere. Also, neanderthals aren't really a...

Re: Noahs Flood and Pangea.
The Arabian Sea to the South of Mesopotamia. That would make geographical sense; the Black Sea and Caspian Sea lie to the North, but the high mountain ranges of Turkey and Iran would have served as a natural barrier. As I study the physical geography of the Middle East, I see the location of the Ant...

Re: Noahs Flood and Pangea.
Dayage, I'm fascinated by the information you provide. I've been studying issues related to ancient Mesopotamian history and Noah's flood (which I believe to be local to the Mesopotamian/Mediterranean region). I would like to compare and discuss some notes with you, if you wish; I'm learning more al...

Re: Neanderthals and modern humans---maybe not related after
Posted this in the jokes section a while back, thought it might be appropriate here  //i.imgur.com/dJNLc.jpg I want to use that meme! Is there any way someone could send this file to me, or some place I could find to download it? I see so many memes from non-Christians, atheists, and evol...

Re: Neanderthals and modern humans---maybe not related after
Ivellious, I have seen different science articles here and there claiming that Neanderthals were the predecessors of homo sapiens. Not all articles, but some. Keep in mind, though, that the subject of Neanderthal is relatively new for me. I certainly don't believe that we descended from Neanderthal...

Re: Neanderthals and modern humans---maybe not related after
I think you may have misread this particular article. It never says that humans and neanderthals weren't related, just that the species may have died out sooner than we had originally thought. It says that most of the species may have died around 48,000 years ago, with a very small contingent of ne...

Neanderthals and modern humans---maybe not related after all
I've been following the Neanderthal question in science for a little while now. Of course, there have been some scientists who say that Neanderthal and modern humans were related in some way; then in 2004, Katerina Havarti published a scholarly piece saying that each one was a separate species; then...
