Re: Are apologetics organizations really about converting pe
Wouldn't the apologetic organizations that are greedy still want to convert people to become believers? They'd be easier to manipulate, it'd be easier to get them to tithe, volunteer, and buy Bibles and books about the Bible. That's my take anyway.

cnk12 wrote: So is love just an involuntary response? The firing of a neuron in the brain? Rather isn't love a choice, tied in with free will? Sadly, there are way too many parents who choose not to love their children. It wouldn't be the case if love was simply involuntary or evolutionary. This is...

Sorry but the quote boxes don't acknowledge what you wrote so I separated my comment from yours with a "return". I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. cnk12 wrote: Are some things always wrong? Yes 'some' things are always 'wrong'. cnk12 wrote: Have you read the great (Atheist) existentialist...

Re: Christians leaving their faith
I have a question about one of your questions that I would like to have more of and understanding of. What do you mean the issue of god is philosophical issue rather than scientific one?WannaLearn Because one's belief or lack of belief in God is an opinion, it isn't proved or disproved with science...

Re: Christians leaving their faith
"... To have no purpose." Now, here's the nub. I have a very happy, fun life/existence. Friends and family. Places to go, things to do and see. What's not to find things about living? "...What if your wrong and you will have to burn in hell for all eternity, doesn't that worry you ju...

Re: Evidence of Jesus?
Yes! There are historians and historic figures that make reference to Jesus, Christianity, and the resurrection. I think it's also important to note that the Bible wasn't always the Bible. The gospels are a collection of separate eyewitness accounts of Jesus and His life, that were grouped together ...

Re: The Second Coming
I’m sorry about my last post; I hadn’t finished it and realize what I did post is poorly worded and makes no sense. So I’ll try again… I've heard Matthew 24:34 referenced where Jesus says this generation will not pass before certain events take place including His return. I've heard claims that Jesu...

Re: The Second Coming
Though I'm far from best qualified to answer your question, I can offer a fairly concise answer. I've heard Mathew 24 often referenced where Jesus says this generation will not pass before He returns. I've heard people say Jesus was supposed to return to save that generation from the Romans, therefo...

Re: Bible Secrets Revealed on History Channel
Here is a good review of this presentation and it clearly points out many of it's obvious discrepancies. http://boldlionblog.wordpress.com/2013/ ... -revealed/User avatar DRDS It was enlightening to read the review and I noticed a ring of truth in the article where I felt a certain animosity and ne...

Bible Secrets Revealed on History Channel
Subject program was on television recently, and the episode covered among the reliability, or lack of, in Bible scripture. They alleged the Dead Sea Scrolls revealed a great many contradictions, gave an example about David and Goliath (I can elaborate on this if anyone wants to know, but it didn’t s...

Re: Christians rejecting the Old Testament
The argument has originated from something absurd and meaningless in the first place that should have never entered into the equation of love..... So why did it? My answer would vary from depending on the situation, but most times I'd say pettiness, arrogance and foolish pride. Doesn't it elevate a...

Re: Doubt
Seeker, I can relate to your situation. Sometimes I think I'm finally realizing Jesus is God and was resurrected while at others I'm consumed with doubt. It's a constant cycle that goes on hourly to daily. Unfortunately I don't have the ultimate answer for you as I'm searching and hoping myself. At ...

Re: Evidence?
That's partially true. The way apologetics tends to be done today--following an ID approach--that's right. And there's nothing inherently wrong with that, I suppose. When you look at the KCA, fine-tuning arguments, the moral arguments, the resurrection--the things ST mentioned above (there many mor...
