Re: Why dont you want your beliefs challenged?
Getting back to my original post Id like to ask this. Lets just say hypothetically that God for sure does not exist. Would you rather know this for sure or would you prefer to just live with the belief that he did? Like say 100 years from now they were somehow able to prove that God didnt exist and...

Re: Problem of evil
If God knew that satan would be the master of evil before he created him and created him anyway, then how is God not responsible for evil?

Re: Problem of evil
lover I have read the 4 gospels more times than I can count. They are actually my favorite books in the entire bible. The problem is that once I thought I was reading about an actual person and reading his actual words but now I dont feel that to be the case. Also the purpose of the prophets or apo...

Re: Problem of evil
Let me ask you a very specific question. I posted earlier about the baby that was cooked to death in the oven by his mother. What good do you think came of that? Here http://www.wral.com/more-charges-filed- ... /12101787/ A five year old girl is sold by her mother to a guy that uses her for his sex...

Re: Problem of evil
What an arrogant thing to say, especially since Christians, far more than any of the Abrahamic faiths, have debated the problem of evil for centuries. Its not arrogant, its true. Christians always say that free will is the reason that God allows evil as if there is nothing God could do to prevent e...

Re: Problem of evil
God could very easily just kill anyone with serious intentions to harm someone else the moment they were about to do it. :shakehead: Yeah, that is a heck of a statement... God had no problem with having entire nations wiped out on several occassions down to children and infants because their societ...

Re: Problem of evil
I feel like we are getting off topic quite a bit here. We should get back to discussing the problem of evil

Re: Why dont you want your beliefs challenged?
Daniel please dont tell me im wrong if you dont know what you are talking about. Do you know what literal and figurative means? Literal means that something means exactly what it says, figurative means something is metaphorical or a figure of speech. If a sentence says "the bag weighed a ton&qu...

Re: Problem of evil
Mag, I tend to think God doesn't use prophets anymore because we have the bible now. Mag, God promises you that if you really want to know Him, He will speak to you through scripture. God desires all men to come into a relationship with Him, and He primarily uses scripture to speak to us. If you re...

Re: Why dont you want your beliefs challenged?
FL I am going to do a recap of that discussion to precisely detail why you are wrong. Me: Why does the verse say that beating purge the inmost being? Why use the words blows, wounds, and beatings if thats not the message God was actually trying to get across? You: I've already explained that. That i...

Re: Problem of evil
lover I would say that if God were to rebuke me for questioning how he can allow evil to exist and persist then I would be very happy because then at least I would have evidence that he exist and then I would have faith that he said some good reason for allowing evil to persist. Currently though I ...

Re: Problem of evil
I define evil as profoundly immoral or malevolent. And I have to say that the idea of lusting after the opposite sex as being evil is completely ridiculous. I find women attractive, but I dont think I lust after them. I dont go around wishing I could have sex with every attractive woman I see throug...
