Re: Problem of evil
A good god would not allow evil to persist. Its really that simple. If you had a policeman that saw a woman being raped and then murdered and just sat by and watched and did nothing to stop the rapist, under what circumstances would you consider that officer a good person? Do you believe that peopl...

Re: Problem of evil
yes. One who can prevent evil at absolutely no cost to them and willfully chooses not to is not good by any standard human definition. There is no ordinary situation where a human that could stop an evil event from occurring and chose not to would still be considered good. So why can God do it and s...

Re: Problem of evil
Why do you think that the existence of evil is evidence against Christ and Our Father? because its existence goes against the concept of being all-powerful, all-good and just. One cannot be all-powerful and good and yet turn a blind eye to thousands of years of evil and suffering. There is no way t...

Re: Problem of evil
Why do you think that the existence of evil is evidence against Christ and Our Father? It's a waste of your time Paul. Magsolo has no intention whatsoever to listen. Not that he doesn't want to, he may on some level, I don't know. It's that he is utterly incapable of comprehending. If I were to say...

Re: Problem of evil
lover I would say that if God were to rebuke me for questioning how he can allow evil to exist and persist then I would be very happy because then at least I would have evidence that he exist and then I would have faith that he said some good reason for allowing evil to persist. Currently though I t...

Re: Facebook atheists are at it again!
Dan, hope you don't mind me saying this but by the look of it, you are wasting your time. I am not saying it is totally futile, just that I think Magsolo's theological perception is wrong on a devestating scale and unless that gets sorted out first, you two are talking past each other. Just my two ...

Re: Facebook atheists are at it again!
Well my point all along has been that the notion that the bible needs to be interpreted is pretty silly and is evidence that the bible was not divinely inspired. What kind of omnipotent, all-knowing God would have his message inspired in such a way that his creation generations later wouldnt be abl...

Re: Facebook atheists are at it again!
Even Christians will interpret the passage differently. But this just means there are many ways of looking at it. The smartarse of a creator of that table has columns "You Say" and "God Says". Does he really believe "God says"? No. Then why say "God says"? Be...

Why dont you want your beliefs challenged?
This is a question more for mods really. Ive seen it written in the rules that this is not a place for debate or for those who have strongly made up their mind that god doesnt exist. What is the purpose of such rules? It seems to be an admission that its very difficult to defend your beliefs so inst...

Re: Why am I here
I would have set beings (like maybe Idk...angels) over us humans whose sole purpose would be to protect humans from falling victim to the evil whims of their fellow man. I would order them to act swiftly to prevent or curtail any and all serious acts of aggression such as murder, rape, warfare, slav...

Re: Why am I here
There are two types of skeptics: Those that do not believe because they truly have not had any evidence to believe. Those that do not believe because they are closed minded to what evidence may be or to to what they consider evidence. Typically I ask skeptics what evidence would they accept or what...

Re: Facebook atheists are at it again!
Why does the verse say that beating purge the inmost being? Why use the words blows, wounds, and beatings if thats not the message God was actually trying to get across? I've already explained that. That is the message God is getting accross. Scroll up and read my 2 previous posts on Pr 20:30. Why ...

Re: Facebook atheists are at it again!
You say it means exactly what it says, Daniel says it means something else. If Christians cant agree on what a verse actually means, how can you expect people like me to understand? Youre taking me to task while completely ignoring the fact that Daniel completely contradicted you. Tell me honestly, ...
