Re: Saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.
According to Scripture, true faith is discernable by works. Those without works are dead. First, It seems the way you have describe this scripture, it sounds like you are saying that the people are dead. It only says their faith is dead. I am sure thats not what you meant. Right? Second, I will agr...

Re: Saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.
Furthermore, I see Scripture does not support the idea of faith, at least a saving faith, being a matter divorced from who we are and a mere an acceptance of a promise to be true. Jesus Himself stated: 21"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who d...

Re: Saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.
Fortigurn, You are correct that these phrases do not exist. They are the interpretation of scripture. And also from the interpretations of non-existant scripture. The only way the Bible shows that we have access into this grace is by faith. So we know from this verse and from no other verses mention...

Re: Saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.
You say "they may feel as though they no longer have salvation". Do you have in mind a Christian with doubts or who keeps on sinning? To make clear my own beliefs so there is no misunderstanding, I believe a doubting Christian or a Christian who continually sins are each saved. Sin is no ...

Re: Saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.
I said previously a person can not lose their salvation. The Anthony illustration above should answer "why", as I see "the person" as the whole of their life. However, what about from a purely temporal perspective of a person who accepts Christ and then later on walks away from ...

Re: Saved by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone.
Jac and K I would guess it would depend on what a person's first view of the Gospel is. I think many people start with the view of a one time belief, but then get under eroneous teaching and start doubting their original beliefs. In this instance I would say they were saved. But if their original be...

Re: Getting ratpacked by non-believers.
One of the things I like to do while have conversations with non believers goes something like this: Me: A while back someone asked me a question. They asked me, "Do you know 100% for sure that you will go to heaven when you die." To be honest with you I did not know. So this person took t...

Re: Please help out
This my not help in your arguement but,... It seems to me that it would not be possible to disprove the existence of God with an experiment that man could do. (For instance the pouring of salt.) Because that then puts the man doing the experiment in the position where God would be if He does exist. ...

Re: The Case for the Global Flood
It seems to me that if the flood was localized and people were living only in that area, God could have told Noah to take his family and move. He built the arc in not less than 60 years, probably more. I would think a family could move on foot to any area of the earth within 60 years and not have to...

Re: Being Glorified
But then there is the instance when Christians will be glorifed - or receive a glorified body at our resurection. Would this mean that we would then have a body worthy to be given honor and praise? Maybe but, it seems that this should not be so because only God should be given the honor and praise....

Being Glorified
The difference in the use of thes word "glorified" has caused me to consider some things. I would like others opinions. In the Bible I see at least 3 different uses of the word "glorified". (But maybe they are actually the same but I just have not recognized it.???) I see many in...

Re: Sin leading to death
Can somebody help me understand what is being said here in Ist John in the NASB. what is the sin leading to death or the sin not leading to death? Why shouldn't we pray for someone who is committing the sin leading to death? I never have understood this. 1Jo 5:16 If anyone sees his brother committi...
