earthquake

Post by Murray »

Anybody else just feel that earthquake.

They seem to make a huge deal out of nothing if you ask me, im right by the epiceneter and not one picture around my house got knocked over or anything lol.

I, in all honesty thought it was my dryer going crazy until I turned on the news 2 hours later that it was a earthquake.

I felt it. I was home sick from work today. The house shook for about 30 seconds and there was a noise. No damage. For a 5.9 quake about 80 miles away, it seems we got off easy.

When you don't get them often 5.9 is big enough. Plus, the ground structure is different around here and the wave travel further and maintain their intensity more than in California.

When California has a wave of tornados, a blizzard, a hurricane and an earthquake all in one year, I'll be glad to hear more ..... :pound:

The people in DC all thought it was a terrorist attack because quakes that big NEVER hit virignia. And apparently the washington monument in tilted a bit, looks kind of funky now

Apparently, Fox News is reporting that the monument is leaning right. MSNBC promptly rebutted FOX's claim by saying it is clearly leaning left. :pound:

WE had to evacuate our school and then dismiss early!!!

It was spooky, I will admit, I've never been in one so feeling the floor shake beneath was weird!!

How can an earthquake happen in an area which had no plate boundaries? How is it possible that an earthquake occurred today in Ottawa, Canada, an area of North America which has no plate boundaries near by to cause an earthquake. Is there a fault line or something there that could have caused it?
