What are your opinions on operation auca?
Do you think that they are martyrs or pests that destroyed natives way of life?

I
t's a great read, a neat thing, one of the natives who speared the 2 of the missionaries is now a priest. But I mean the story is horrifying imagine being a missionary watching your friends being speared to death while running for your life in the amazon

Re: Operation Auca
It is indeed a very interesting story. I read that some time ago. I personally think this is the kind of evangelism in the first place which got Christianity where it is now.
It would be a blessing if they missed the cairns and got lost on the way back. Or if
the Thing on the ice got them tonight.
I could only turn and stare in horror at the chief surgeon.
Death by starvation is a terrible thing, Goodsir, continued Stanley.
And with that we went below to the flame-flickering Darkness of the lower deck
and to a cold almost the equal of the Dante-esque Ninth Circle Arctic Night
without.

Re: Operation Auca
I mean the missionaries are extraordinarily brave. I cannot imagine trying to 1)contact an uncontacted tribe then 2) meet them face to face then 3)try to change their culture.
I mean they did have positive benefits, the tribes no longer war,and one of the attackers is now a preist
