I was wondering if there would be any enthusiasm for book by book, bit at a time, bible study. I had a quick search but couldn't find much.Furstentum Liechtenstein wrote:Perhaps the best thing to do is to take up a verse-by-verse study of a particular chapter of Revelation together. If you both like, we could start at Revelation 1 and work our way till the end. This way we would all be on the same page.
Part of my renewed interest in Christianity is from reading threads like this elsewhere on the net several years ago. I'm still getting to grips with the Bible and much of what I get from this site is little snippets out of context. It might be nice for a change to let the Bible, or a certain book from it, determine the context and have a little commentary going. There's a frightening amount of Biblical knowledge hanging around this forum and I feel like much of it comes out in the context of the big issues, perhaps meaning that some of the more subtle points contained within the Bible don't get much air time.
I was thinking one of the four Gospels might be a good start, Job and Genesis would be interesting but I suspect they would quickly deviate from the narrative.
Thoughts?
