Only to those who hear the message of the gospel and not repent. Those who never heard the Gospel - well, I think they will be pardoned, on some unknown criteria of which I have no idea about.Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

John 10:16 I have other sheep, which are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will hear My voice; and they will become one flock with one shepherd.
After Jesus death, He brought everybody's attention to Him. (This is how I understand the verse 16.) So, everybody has a chance to be saved.
But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.

Neo,
First, it says, They WILL hear MY voice.
Murray, what do mean exactly? Jesus spoke these words to Jews. Jews who he had hand picked as disciples BTW, and who believed.

That's what I said J, those who hear and won't repent are the ones who are condemned. Those who never heard are obviously not addressed in this verse.jlay » Mon Nov 14, 2011 8:31 pm

Re: John 14:6
There is only ONE path to God and that is Christ, the person AND the teachings.
Those that do NOT accept EITHER are in a bit of trouble, to say the least.
Those that, for cultural reasons for example, accept the teachings but not the person have SOME chance.
There may be a bunch of reasons why a person doesn't accept or even believe in Christ and God knows ALL of them and IF they are "valid" a person well have a chance are salvation BUT for those that KNOW of Christ AND reject Him ( and as such are rejecting the HS), there is no salvation.

In this dispensation, there is no difference. Romans 10:12Murray wrote:MODERN jews hear he word but do not accept it.

This was my main concern. Whether a sinner has heard the gospel or not, they are still a sinner. If that were the case, then preaching the gospel might be the most counterproductive thing we can do.neo-x wrote:Those who never heard the Gospel - well, I think they will be pardoned, on some unknown criteria of which I have no idea about.

Re: John 14:6
I agree J, what I said was only to imply that those who never heard the gospel can not be judged on the idea that they rejected Christ, they have to know about the good news first to be called to account for it later (this is why I used teh word pardoned, they'll be pardoned from rejecting the gospel, since they never heard it to begin with). God will judge them on some other criteria, he has to or else man has an excuse (of course they remain sinners even with the excuse)neo-x wrote:

John 15:22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin.
