He spends a lot of time with them and most of them, maybe not Fred, seem to like him.

Here's an old calvinst hymn. Bring back the good old hymns, I say!
We are the Lord's elected few, let all the rest be damned; there's room enough in hell for you, we won't have heaven crammed!"
John 5:24
24 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.
“A nation of sheep will beget a government of wolves.”

Rick, sounds a bit arrogant, sure. Is it unbiblical?RickD wrote:Here's an old calvinst hymn. Bring back the good old hymns, I say!We are the Lord's elected few, let all the rest be damned; there's room enough in hell for you, we won't have heaven crammed!"

I would say it's biblical, in as much as Calvinism is biblical.DannyM wrote:Rick, sounds a bit arrogant, sure. Is it unbiblical?RickD wrote:Here's an old calvinst hymn. Louis does give a good window into the lives of very strange people.
The anti-Jewish one he did got quite uncomfortable when they started asking him if he was Jewish:

Murray,
I realise I may be steering your thread off into a certain area. My apologies. Say the word and I'll start a new thread. Your call.

Danny, I just pm'd you the WBC website. I think you'll really like it. It seems right up your alley, with your "Why should I love those who God doesn't love", theology.

Somehow I just can't believe they're serious, although I don't know what their angle would be or what they would get with publicity. There's simply a complete lack of Christian love, charity, and compassion as clearly demonstrated by Christ. I just don't know how any Christian could possibly be so over the top, under any circumstance I just don't see it.
This is honestly one of those circumstances where I think the devil could be involved. We're supposed to be the light of the world, you'd hope that the world wouldn't judge us by these few but they don't know any better.

I believe I'm beginning to understand what Bart is saying about Calvinism, taken to its logical conclusion, results in behavior like the behavior manifested by WBC.Somehow I just can't believe they're serious, although I don't know what their angle would be or what they would get with publicity. On another note, Narnia, I believe they are completely serious. Just look at some of the stunts they have pulled. And look at what the children in their church are saying. It's truly disgusting what hate they indoctrinate their children with. It's the same spirit, that certain Muslims use to indoctrinate their young children with, when they teach them to hate Jews.

Well, then it is time to show how that is true. There is a huge gap between what hypers believe and teach, and what Calvinist doctrine is.RickD wrote:I believe I'm beginning to understand what Bart is saying about Calvinism, taken to its logical conclusion, results in behavior like the behavior manifested by WBC.
Acts 17:24-25 (NIV)
"The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. [25] And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else."
