study or not to study

Post by goldmoor »

I heard a lot at church ,Christian tv and christain radio about how important it is to study God's word (the bible)
in the past it really seemed hard to stay on tract .i crack up my bible and start reading when i finish i try my best to remeber it but sooner or later i forget let i see people who seem to have the bible inprinted in their head i know i can't just read it like a regular text book and i have tried to write down verses on a flash card and carried them around me but i some how end up back a square one

i know the isn't a easily way arounded and i am not looking for a quick fix it will time i understand but is there a sure way of studying ,retaining and reciprocating( being able to speak scripture by heart) God's word
for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but power and of love and of a sound mind 2timonthy1:7

he has given us power to overcome any obstacle, love to endured any and all hardship and a sound mind to solve any problem and have peace inside and out so truly what is it that we should fear

What has helped me most is writing down the verses that you feel important to remember either on paper or digital file. Meditate on G-d's word.. Also it is important that you understand G-d's plots and the future resurrection of G-d's kingdom starting in Jerusalem and the steps you need to take in order to fulfill it.

Blessings to you, it's a good question... y@};-

I read a few chapters over and over until they sink in. I usually read the same 5 to 7 chapters a day for a few weeks and then move on. Reading the Bible from Genesis to Revelation takes me about 10 years...laborious, but it is worth it. An advantage of this method is that I see deeper meanings with every successive pass.

If they had a social gospel in the days of the prodigal son, somebody would have given him a bed and a sandwich and he never would have gone home.
