Loss of the Right to Live
I found this article absolutely disturbing and thought I would share. Basically, it is a summary of several hyper-liberal/progressive stories about giving people the 'right to die' and removing the 'right to live' from others.
I'm posting for two reasons. Obviously, I like to hear what other people have to say about this stuff. But secondly, on a broader topic, is anyone else reminded of the type of atmosphere that was present when Hitler started his concentration camps? This sounds so similar to the type of thinking that allowed eugenics and death camps. You would think it wouldn't be forgotten in less than a century, especially since we have video of it!

that is disturbing as heck. Same concept as the slaughter of unborn babies though, profit off death. Disgusting.n fact, in the Netherlands six mobile euthanasia teams are now going door-to-door to help elderly patients end their lives in the comfort of their own homes.

I'd just like to know (off topic), what are the prices of fuel in the U.S. at the moment?Murray wrote:I love the picture on the side of the article

Wow, I'm sorry, but that cartoon about gas prices is such a lie. Gas prices in the US are and have been subsidized by the government for years to artificially reduce the price of gas. Everywhere else it's far more expensive. No one should complain about a luxury that isn't even kind of related to Obama's presidency.

This is exactly why I asked about gas prices - I wanted to compare, so let's see:Ivellious wrote:Wow, I'm sorry, but that cartoon about gas prices is such a lie. As of 6 March, Eurosuper BS 98 fuel costs 11,11 Kn/l in Croatia. The Kn vs. USD ratio is about 5,75:1, which leads us to $1,93 / l, i.e. $7,31 / Gallon.Byblos wrote:In NY $4 / Gallon (3.785 Liters).
I didn't expect this, but I have to admit that Ivellious was right. Americans, your gas prices are (in relative terms) low. Period.

Of course they are, much less than any place else (save Saudi Arabia perhaps). They've always been low historically, $4 a gallon (projected to hit $5 by the spring) is scandalous. And what's more there is really no reason for it to go up, it's all based on speculation (and greed), pure and simple.Reactionary wrote:This is exactly why I asked about gas prices - I wanted to compare, so let's see:Ivellious wrote:Wow, I'm sorry, but that cartoon about gas prices is such a lie. I know in Britain, a lot of the price of gasoline, goes towards universal health care. I'm not sure about other countries in Europe.

Do you know what percentage of it does? Because I mean their gas is almost double ours, I can't imagine that all goes to healthcare

I feel sick after reading that.
Oh and £1.39 per litre or there abouts in the UK. Which is probably about 3-4 Dollars.
