Common ancestery birds and reptiles question

Post by cubeus19 »

One of the things I've heard and most of you all here have to from people who love to try anything that is edible is that if they try eating meat from for instance frogs, turtles, lizards and even snakes they always say the same thing, they taste like chicken. I was wondering does that indicate that birds like chicken did evolve from reptiles? Or is that mainly is misnomer?

I'm fairly certain that phrase is just a phrase, nothing more...I wouldn't think anyone would use that as evidence for inter-relatedness between reptiles and birds (regardless of the fact that I do think they are related through evolution).

Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life. Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever.Amen.

I had chicken at a Chinese restaurant, that didn't taste like chicken. What does that mean? Meow!

Interesting Dan, what kind have you eaten in the past? My dad has tried froglegs (which aren't really reptile) and my grandmother has eaten turtle.

Frog legs, alligator (these two fairly similar, more rubbery than chicken), ostrich (red meat), turtle (also not like chicken).
