If all worship, if done "to the Lord", is acceptable, why was Cain's basket of fruit not accepted?
I don't think Cain did that FOR the Lord, Cain was punished because his INTENT ( not the action) was not righteous.

The bible doesn't say specifically, does it? There are a few theories on why:Why did God reject Cain's sacrifice?
Genesis 4:6 wrote: Then the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? If you do what is right, will you not be accepted?

Convenient for you to interpret it this way. However God's words to Cain is clear. See My last post.

Sorry Bav. Still not seeing it. What does this have to do with one choosing to worship God on a specific day of the week, or every day of the week?

If you don't see it, sorry. It's pretty much basic in the context of Cain's worship and the text promoted as enabeling all manner of worship as long as it is done "to the Lord"...

This is off-topic anyway on this thread.

Here's the original post by Murray:"
"nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. These promote controversies rather than God's work--which is by faith."

What does it mean?i"
Now, maybe Cain's sacrifice wasn't given to God, "in faith", as Abel's was?
Still don't see how if one worships God properly, one can't worship on whatever day/days he chooses. Unless, you're saying that proper worship can only be on Saturday?

In what way?
I don't even know what that means, LOL !

Look, all we know is that Cain offering was not pleasing to God, and there are a few clues LATER on as to possibly WHY:
Lack/incorrect faith:
By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained witness that he was righteous. God testifying of his gifts; and through it he being dead still speaks (Hebrews 11:4).

John said that Cains works were evil:
not as Cain who was of the wicked one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his works were evil and his brother's righteous (1 John 3:12).

Since we don't have information on any of Cain's works other than his attempted offering, one can assume that the intent of the offering was not a righteous one.

God's answer to Cain:

If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at your door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it (Genesis 4:7).

I will leave God's words as the answer here on this thread. Obviously one was right and the other was not.

If you wish to discuss further, open another thread or look for the "Sabbath" thread(s) and continue.

So, are you saying that you believe the only proper way to worship God, is on saturday?

Since Bav won't explain this, can someone else explain the correlation between Cain's sacrifice, and which day/days we worship God? Anyone? I honestly don't see the correlation.

Worshipping God can be done in many ways and at anytime. However God's nature apparently suggests there is a specific time ( and in Cain/Abel's case, a proper sacrifice ), set aside by God Himself, to do so. All other worship is fine, however if His will is replaced with our own, where does that leave our "worship" if it is not done in accordance with God's will?

If the Law points to sin ( Romans 7:7 ), then to ignore and therefore disregard the 4th Commandment is to...

Again...this is not the thread for this.
