Oh sure, pick the name that has connotations of destruction and stuff, instead of a profound, world-altering name like "Forge".

What is this world coming to?

Well, it's going "to hell in a handbasket" if you as a Christian don't understand the significance of being broken! It's abandonment of self so that Christ may become you're all! It's the up-rooting of our selves so that Christ can be grafted in as the one in control! It's the ultimate Christian life- being broken!

When I hear the word "forge" I think of the really old "Oregon Trails" computer game- the one on the big floppy disk that only has the colors neon green and black. That is where I first learned that word because we'd have to forge the river. So please forgive me on overlooking your own screen name on this basis.

Oh wait, I meant "ford" the river. Oops! But there again you see how I missed the significance of your name! Please explain to me it's importance so that I may appreciate it more.

I don't know. In direct contradiction to statistical analysi, I tapped in five random characters, and voila! Forge was born.

I lie, of course. I don't know why I picked it. It just sounded nice.

You could always be like me and use your first initial, last name, and first three digits of one of your favorite numbers. :)

Well I'd say I was the most creative out of all of you! I took possible nicknames for my first and middle names. And btw, no one in my non-electronic life calls me by either!

It's not interesting enough for me.

"GWong5937296000.50493959494" is too... boring.

What are all those numbers about, homey-G? :) That was just a plain stupid attempt at humor. Forgive me, I'm in the right mindframe tonight!

No, it's not random. It actually took me quite a bit of time to calculate. Its the inverse square of the number of pies I have eaten multiplied by the number of hairs on your head, divided by the square root of monkey's with red buttocks in Africa, all over the amount of .5 infinity.

Hi guys,

I've been lurking for a little while, and decided to join up in the hope of holding a few decent conversations with other, like-minded (and not like-minded) members of this board.:)

I live in Leeds, England, I'm 16 and currently at school. I consider myself a Christian, I come from a Christian family and I have a relationship with the Lord, although I'm still growing (aren't we all? )

Look forward to chatting to you all

Hi Paradox,

Nice to meet one of those always labeled "Guest!" I wondered if there was anyone that regularly read the posts but never contibuted their own, and now I know! I'd like to see what you have to say. Nice screen name, btw. I like it because I believe God sometimes seems like one although He isn't. Why did you choose it?

See Ya Around,

Hi guys, thanks for the welcome,

The name Paradox: It sounds cool, nothing more, nothing less! Although it does have strong implications I agree, and it's just the name I've used on a couple of other forums I'm a member of.

I attend a Baptist church, but as far as I know, they're a little different to those over in America. Might have to find out a little more :)

I think Baptists tend to be the more mainstream Protestants, but Southern Baptists in the U.S. are conservative if not ultraconservative.

OK, this Kiwi lurker has just joined too.
I'm a Christian, persuaded by the writings of Francis Schaeffer, C.S. Lewis, George MacDonald ("Phantastes") and other orthodox believers, plus a bit of a push from life's circumstances.
If it matters to anyone, I am C of E by denomination.
This whole website plus forums has a wealth of good teaching and I am learning as fast as I can.
