Image and Likeness ?

Post by twinc »

are or were - do scriptures say we are or were created in the image and likeness of God which was lost at the Fall but will be restored - surely we are now in the fallen image and likeness of Adam, like ruins still showing the glory that once was Adam as man - if we are now in the image and likeness of God what exactly is the problem or need for salvation - it seems the problem is that whilst this concept is great for our inflated ego it does not say much for God - any comments - twinc

In Christ, our fallen image is branded new. We become a new creature. That is why we need salvation.
It would be a blessing if they missed the cairns and got lost on the way back. Or if
the Thing on the ice got them tonight.

I could only turn and stare in horror at the chief surgeon.
Death by starvation is a terrible thing, Goodsir, continued Stanley.
And with that we went below to the flame-flickering Darkness of the lower deck
and to a cold almost the equal of the Dante-esque Ninth Circle Arctic Night
without.

It is restored spiritually in Christ. Those who have the spirit of God are indeed in his image and likeness and continue to be, because image and likeness never entailed anything physically.

let me try and simplify and clarify the question thus "are we or were we created [repeat created] in the image and likeness of God" - twinc
