It doesn't matter how much you tithe, it matters how much of your life you are willing to give to God.

If you're willing to give a lot to God, then tithing at least ten percent will not be a problem.

ocho,
that's inapplicable...
no it's not. besides, that article had decent reasons why tithing is not necessarily for the church.
it embarrasses you if you cannot afford to donate a lot of money?
no, it doesn't. but it did once.
sounds like you have a long way to go in your journey with God.
yes, i do...but definately not any farther than you.
ann coulter once said: "i take the biblical idea. God says, "earth is yours. take it. rape it. it's yours."
God never said that.

G.K. Chesterton "The way to love anything is to realize that i might be lost."

but, you don't know how to love do you, ocho?

But what about our responsibiltiy in tending our garden? We have been commanded by God to take care of the earth and all that's in it. We are the caretakers, and must do right by it. It is just fine to make use of the earth for our benefit, but a sin to do it true harm.

Whenever this topic comes up I just can't help but think of the Millenial Kingdom and what the earth will be like then! A paradise again!

yes katie but we are all really bad gardeners
Church tradition tells us that when John, son of Zebadee and brother of James was an old man, his disciples would carry him to church in their arms.
He would simply say, “Little children, love one another”
After a time his disciples wearied at always hearing these same words and asked “Master why do you always say this?
He replied, “it is the Lords command, and if done, it is enough”

some of us try at least 8)
tithing could be giving from the heart. if someone give $10 or their time from their hearts, god would hold that dear would he not?
where as if someone givee $100 because he feels he has too, that would not be from his heart, and would not not frown on this ?
