Re: Absolute Reality
Nope. In order for reality to be absolute, reality shouldn't change, but it does change...

Re: Absolute Reality
Yes...Does the reality of death change?
Look at how much medicine has progressed. But let's go for a clear example:
A man has rabies.
1) 150 years ago he would die. (no vaccine)
2) Today he lives.
Can we become immortal? Of course...
Just give it a little time.
Right now, even if we would have the medical breakthrough for that, we do have 7 billion people on this planet and growing beyond sustainable growth.
Just ask yourself about why we die in the first place:
1) We are conditioned by time (this needs a little bit of work)
2) Mechanical failure (this can be fixed and with time passing by, medicine will be able to fix almost anything)

Re: Absolute Reality
Technically, we can't become immortal through technology. Even if we were able to stop aging altogether, the universe would eventually die out from heat death or something or we'd get compressed in a supermassive black hole or all those other nasty things that are inevitable given enough time.BryanH wrote:Yes...Does the reality of death change?

define absolute reality?B. W. wrote:Question:

You can't because that definition would be a"slave' to YOUR perception of reality, ie: it would be subjective.

Maybe by that time we will be able to create our own universe... technically speaking of course.Technically, we can't become immortal through technology. Even if we were able to stop aging altogether, the universe would eventually die out from heat death or something or we'd get compressed in a supermassive black hole or all those other nasty things that are inevitable given enough time.

In short, reality is as real as it needs to be at any given point in time.
