making amends

Post by Prodigal Son »

i've got some stolen stuff i want out of my life. i really can't give anything back to who it was taken from. don't think i should throw it away. don't think it's right to give it away. am i allowed to sell it? i could then donate the money to a charity?

If possible I would encourage you to give it back to the one it was taken from. Beyond that, you could always give it away directly to a charity, depending on the nature of the item. But the salvation army takes all kinds of things.

why can't you give it back?
have you thought of posting or using a courier?
Church tradition tells us that when John, son of Zebadee and brother of James was an old man, his disciples would carry him to church in their arms.
He would simply say, “Little children, love one another”
After a time his disciples wearied at always hearing these same words and asked “Master why do you always say this?
He replied, “it is the Lords command, and if done, it is enough”
