ocho,
G.K. Chesterton "The way to love anything is to realize that i might be lost."
but, you don't know how to love do you, ocho?
no it's not. besides, that article had decent reasons why tithing is not necessarily for the church.that's inapplicable...
no, it doesn't. but it did once.it embarrasses you if you cannot afford to donate a lot of money?
yes, i do...but definately not any farther than you.sounds like you have a long way to go in your journey with God.
God never said that.ann coulter once said: "i take the biblical idea. God says, "earth is yours. take it. rape it. it's yours."

But what about our responsibiltiy in tending our garden? We have been commanded by God to take care of the earth and all that's in it. We are the caretakers, and must do right by it. It is just fine to make use of the earth for our benefit, but a sin to do it true harm.
Whenever this topic comes up I just can't help but think of the Millenial Kingdom and what the earth will be like then! A paradise again!

Church tradition tells us that when John, son of Zebadee and brother of James was an old man, his disciples would carry him to church in their arms.
He would simply say, “Little children, love one another”
After a time his disciples wearied at always hearing these same words and asked “Master why do you always say this?
He replied, “it is the Lords command, and if done, it is enough”

tithing could be giving from the heart. if someone give $10 or their time from their hearts, god would hold that dear would he not?
where as if someone givee $100 because he feels he has too, that would not be from his heart, and would not not frown on this ?
