Let us proclaim the mystery of our faith: Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again.
Lord I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.

Re: Baptism
The grand commission was the baptize in the name of Father, Son and HS.
I have issues with ANY baptism that ADDS to that.
IN short, we are Baptized In the Father, Through the Son, By the HS.
Or something like that

Question: Person who is not baptized cannot be Christian?

Lets not start that old chestnut again.
You can be a Christian without being baptised.

Re: Baptism
In my view, there is power in both ways.
However, traditionally, I suggest we all stick to how Christ told us how to do it.
As it pertains to baptism, and if that is what you are reffering to, then John 3:5 , Titus 3:5 , and many other passages are very explicitly explained.
However, traditionally, I suggest we all stick to how Christ told us how to do it.
That depends entirely on what you define as a Christian vs what the bible instructs.1over137 wrote:Question: Person who is not baptized cannot be Christian?

Re: Baptism
Titus 3:5-7: 5 He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs [a]according to the hope of eternal life.
This verse shows that the "washing of regeneration and renewing", is by the Holy Spirit. God alone saves. Water baptism is a symbol of the saving baptism which is regeneration by the Holy Spirit. Again the power to save is God's alone, through Jesus Christ, by the Holy Spirit. Literal water does not save.
Jesus said in John 7:38-39: 38“He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’” 39But this He spoke of the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
Just like water baptism is symbolic of the baptism of the Holy Spirit, "rivers of living water" is also symbolic of the indwelling Holy Spirit. I think if one wants to say that water baptism is what literally saves, then one would have to believe we would have literal rivers of water flowing from us if we believe in Jesus Christ.
